Just because I"m interested in learning more about racial groups and the whole debate about race in general, I"m going to play the devils advocate, if no one minds. I expect to be well refuted and put in my place.
The White race has been shown to be dominate over all the other races when it comes to culture, technology, innovation, etc. Is this really because white people are smarter? I have met black people who probably have much higher IQ's than I (me being a white guy). Or does it have to do with where we are placed geographically? Is it simply a fluke that our culture developed? Or perhaps other cultures developed as well, we just don't hear much about their inventions or their culture because it never made it into the mainstream (like the monks in England who invented a way to extract iron very efficiently hundreds of years before its time, but never got it out into mainstream). Maybe the whites took the credit for all of these inventions. Perhaps the black people are just as smart as white, except they are raised in an environment where their intellectuality never gets a chance to grow or develop. (Doesn't seem likely that slaves or people on welfare would have a really good chance of growing both academically or independently).
Also, one has to bear in mind that the African race is still a minority here in the United States, so it would make sense that some of those statistics would be as they are. For a black male, there are far more white victims than there are black, whereas in reverse there are far less black victims for the white male than there are white victims. Also, if the majority of rap music (I assume of black origin) is purchased by whites, then perhaps it might be evidence that the black culture is actually superior to the white, if it is able to spread to the white people faster than the white people can spread it to the black.
Oh yes, there's also the belief that maybe cops are more prone to believe a big tall black person committed a murder over a white guy, and so it's easy to use black people as a scapegoat, due to the typical stereotypes of today.
