  • Why is there a "delete" button when you can't delete a post.  :confused1:

  • It's the "stick your head in the sand" feature.

  • For awhile, I used it to remove posts I had already read so that I could pick up a thread where I left off.  However, too often I wanted to go back and read something, and couldn't, so I stopped doing that.

I really wish we had a "View Lat Read" feature on this forum.

  • Be careful with the delete button. I inadvertently clicked on it once and was taken to the screen that said "You will never see this post by [So-and-So] again." Below those words was the link that said "Continue," just like it does when you are logging in or out. I did not want to "continue" so I clicked the back button on my browser, but the post was deleted for me nonetheless. Fortunately it was not a substantive post and I probably will not suffer much for missing it, but I am a little upset that I will never again have the pure, 100.00% Cathinfo experience. I wish there was a way to "undelete" posts. (By the way, this is also why I never use my "Ignore" feature. I want to see the whole forum, however unruly it may be in some of its members.)

  • I've only used the "delete" button three or four times, once by accident. I'll only delete a post if it's incredibly stupid, blasphemous, or slanderous.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.
