  • ... "Have I kept company with someone else's spouse?".

I personally think it means keeping company with the new friend who is MARRIED and of the opposite sex, alone, without the spouse present, in public, just you and the married person - for dinner, sharing the same glass - which can lead to misleading intentions or deception..

Raoul76 says, in a previous post/thread about dinner with a married woman (Moral theology question -- males and [married] females sharing from same glass):

Kept company means "had sex with." It's a euphemism’.

Do you agree or disagree?  Please explain/discuss.

I would like to be enlightened by this subject because it is a subject which is constant in the secular world (by far this is not an attack on Raoul76, he just brings up a very important reaction, one to which must be discussed. He seems to be misguided and I am concerned.. do most people share his opinion?)

    Thank you.

  • I disagree with Raoul. I don't think it's a euphemism.

Even if you have no bad intentions in having a lunch or something with a co-worker, you never know what their intentions are.

Raoul needs to do some reading and stop spouting off without sufficient knowledge of the terms, objects and persons he likes to pronounce judgments on:

    +1 Thanks for the link.

P.S. I have noticed for awhile that Raoul has 1 out of 10 posts that are good and the rest are his own made up theology of what he wants to be true and not what is true. Usually his fallacies are confined to his made up beliefs about the SSPX(IE: He Hears one bad thing about a person who is SSPX and assumes it is everywhere in the SSPX and then embellishes it in his imaginiation into being some outrages thing known only to him in his delusional mind).

  • Okay, so I was wrong.  But I am still not keeping company with any woman, because here it is defined as a steady, exclusive relationship.

Tele, you are a master of ingratiating yourself aren't you?
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

No.  I don't try to ingratiate myself.  I do have a lot of experience posting.

Usually doesn't win me much online popularity.  I don't think LordPhan, or Zenith, or Caminus are going to come over to my way of looking at things.
