So............ which was it, "in a moment of time" or "and the glory of them?" And was it "a high mountain" or was it "a very high mountain?"

  • And yet Haydock commentary says this:

"Ver. 8. Shewed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory; and as St. Luke says, in a moment of time. We cannot comprehend how this could be done from any mountain, or seen with human eyes. Therefore many think it was by some kind of representation; or that the devil shewing a part, by words set forth the rest. (Witham) --- He shewed him the different climates in which each country was situated. (St. Chrysostom)"
    Please pray for my soul.

Since we are, as Catholics, to firstly interpret the Bible with its literal meaning, if He said He was shown ALL then that does mean ALL the kingdoms.

Did you know that these scripture verses are in the Holy Bible?

  • I find it very interesting that the 2 scripture verses I posted in this thread bother some people on CathInfo so much.

    .^. Flat Earth.
Can't come back from the dead, be born of a virgin, feed the multitudes with practically nothing, turn water into wine, part the Red Sea or save humanity from stupidity either.

But He did all those things LITERALLY. Meaning He literally saw the entire flat earth, because it is FLAT. With His eyes He could see that far.

Why could He exactly? How was that possible? Seems like I recall at least one instance of Him telling of events that He was neither physically present, nor even proximate, to.

I'm starting to think you're a really bored, pathetic Atheist, Pagan, whatever, just having us on with the stuff that you come up with.

But okay then, why exactly if he had supervision then, why couldn't he see the other side of a globe too?

So right  DZ PLEASE, even standing on top of Mount Everest ordinary eyes would not see the entire "flat" earth.

Remember the devil at that point did not know Jesus was God.  Read the comments in the Haydock Bible posted here to see how the devil planned for an ordinary man to receive his temptation.

We know the eyes of God could see the entire global earth with ease, flat or inside out.

What are you trying so hard to prove with this topic anyway?  Is it possible you can start a topic and end topic without your pushing your error of science which has nothing to do with the Catholic Bible?

The error of science is the false-god you currently bow to instead of God's Biblical Truth.

Your evidence is so lacking, you people need a snow GLOBE to prove the earth is flat.  :laugh2:

Ma'am, the consensus seems to be that it is self-evident, which means "Cogito, ergo 'Duh'" for "La Rotunda Tierra" dummies.
