Today in Seattle (Good Friday) we traded in the old venerable Stations of the Cross for the agorniamento version created "by Father J de l'Estourbeillon, SSPX." No offense against Fr. D., but why (aside from the obvious) would you relegate those of Saint Alphonsus to the trash can? On Good Friday?

Was anyone else sold the same bag of goods? Or should I write, "who else was sold the same bag of goods?"

  • Hi d!  I wonder if this will make anyone over there start thinking?

  • And when they do start thinking and perhaps asking questions they will be asked, "What exactly is wrong with Fr. de l'Estourbeillon's version?  Can you point out the errors?"

Each Friday that I've attended Stations at our sspx church, the St Alphonsus version was used.
But today, I did not recognize the version used, it definitely was not beloved St A.  So I just pulled out my copy of it and prayed along.
I was too engrossed to pay much attention to the other version.  I'll look into.

  • The primary error is in dumping a Doctor of the Church, along with venerable antiquity, and replacing him with an SSPX priest.

  • A pretty sad state of affairs indeed
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  •  :confused1:New York, SSPX used St. Alphonsus Stations as always.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.
