I do frequent http://www.activistpost.com which links to items of interest on other sites (as in the case of the link to the alter net article about the banksters' badge-carryin' gangbangers).

ActivistPost spans quite a political spectrum from anarchists to socialists—NO Zionists though :-) I peruse their articles not because I agree with anyone's politics there, but because the site reports on real news and real issues.  They are not Catholic, but they are AWAKE.

Every once in a while they post something really whacky about reptilians or transhumanists (to wit, recent pro & con essays on the subject by the same author). Again, I know nothing about alter net except insofar as the single article I linked.

I do notice that the alter net article you mentioned was penned by Mark Morford.  HE is the real insufferable jerk and I have penned more than one blistering letter to the editor at the SF Comical about Morford's insanities. As you'd expect of fagtown's home paper, none of my letters ever saw the light of day.
