Ity was reported in THE IRISH DAILY MAIL yesterday that
SVP asked to explain 45,000 euro (about $60,000) donation to gαy rights group
The Catholic bishop of Galway has written to the Society to clarify why it gave a substantial donation to a gαy rights organisation in the city.
SVP whose remit is to fight poverty and help the poor and homeless recieves a quarter of its funding from Mass collections and annual Church appeals at Christmas. This donation received approval at a national level.
Mr Jim Walsh, spokesman for SVP said that while the SVP was a Catholic organisation, it was not accountable to the CHURCH. This sounds like the Irish leader of Parliament, Enda Kenny, who when introducing the next step to abortion in Ireland said, I am a Catholic, but I am not a Catholic leader.
Fr Peter McVerry (never seen with a collar Verry), modernist personified, helper of the material poor, supported the decision. "If the money is being used to support people who are in gαy relationships and who find the culture they live in oppressive, I have no problem with that."
There is no end to it, is there? Saint Vincent would turn in his grave.
