  • I did not even know that this so called "Catholic" church existed. Their clergy are supposed to be validly ordained. I even see female priests here. For God's sake! The devil must be delighted.

If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • If they have female "priests" then there is good reason to doubt the validity of  their ordinations.

  • I know that there is a parish in Long Beach, CA. and when I attended
St. Anthony's, we were warned that it was not a Catholic Church, and
    to stay away from it.

  • It looks suspect, especially with so-called female "priests." I'd ignore it.

  • Interesting.  Sedevacantist Novus Ordos.

But if you take a look at their "Canon Law" you will see that they are "inclusive" and do not discriminate based on "sɛҳuąƖ orientation".

They're not Catholic in any way, but, I think, they are where the Vatican is currently headed.  They just couldn't wait.

I note that in Kingston, PA is the St. Martin Luther King, Jr. Pastoral & Outreach Center.  Wow!!!

  • I mentioned it before, as the local NO excitedly told me about the Americans "breaking away" from the constraints of Rome (his words). I don't trust that priest even for an RCC guy (the stories I could tell!), but he said that term, "American Catholic Church". I wonder if that's what our fallen NO parish is really going to do then?

At the time, that anti-priest had made it sound like the USCCB was breaking off from Rome, which I found horrifying. But now I can see how I might have misread that since this "American Catholic" thing already exists. (The local NO is so bad that even their Bishop wants to close its doors. That's when you know you've entered a very bad place. *shivers*)

Thanks; that makes more sense now. (Though I was imagining Dolan habemus papemming himself, which gave me a chuckle.)

"Let us pray -- or not!  Religion and cultural competence in the workplace"

    King’s College

    REGISTER NOW

This workshop raises awareness and increases knowledge about the importance of understanding how religion relates to cultural competence and inclusion initiatives.

In an area where discussion can often be contentious and filled with misunderstanding, it is important to develop an understanding of what makes religion important to some, and not important to others.

It is essential to include religion and spirituality as a subject for reflection in assessing cultural differences, thus helping us to recognize an individual’s strengths, and understand more fully how prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination based on religion can undermine organizational effectiveness.

We will ignore our mothers’ advice to refrain from discussing religion or politics in polite company, and explore how identifying as a person with or without strong religious beliefs can help us connect or create barriers.

.......... I could go on and on for PAGES about this .......................

I recall having read about an American Catholic Church
    10 years ago.

From what I recall, they had some prayers like their 'Creed'
online, and when you read it you just go.......... "What?"

It's a little bit like "Desiderata," by Max Ehrman.*

It was reminiscent of the Theosophical Society, which I ran
across while driving my car and family around the outskirts of
Santa Barbara and Ventura, CA about 20 years ago.  I picked
up some of their literature and we checked out their "chapel"
on a hill, which was a most beautiful setting, really, if not
somewhat in a state of disrepair.

Years later I would find an outdoor 'chapel' in New Hampshire,
which was indicated by signs on the highway nearby, and going
there I found much the same kind of thing:  universalist, One-
World, peace-and-brotherhood, with a hint of Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ, but
nothing specifically Masonic as best I could tell.  There was some
mention in the literature that Masons have used these facilities
for some of their ceremonies from time to time.

(Some advice for what to think about when you're on a sinking ship.)

    *Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
    If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

    Be yourself.
    Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

    You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

    Welcome
       :scratchchin:

The word Theosophy has been used for many centuries, it is of Greek origin meaning Wisdom of the Gods (theo - of Gods, sophia – wisdom).

[I.e., that there are many 'Gods,' is a fundamental 'fact' of 'Wisdom'
such that anyone who says there is one God, is therefore a fool.]

Wisdom cannot be enclosed within words, it is a Truth which must be discovered and experienced by each one for themselves.

[I.e., truth is subjective, God is immanent, which is the foundation of Modernism.]

Theosophy, sometimes known as the Ageless Wisdom, is the Light which shines through the many coloured lamps of religion.

[I.e., all religions are equally valid.]

It is the thread of truth in scriptures, creeds, symbols, myths and rituals.

[I.e., Freemasonic principles of Equality, Fraternity, Liberty.]

Divine Wisdom is One, the paths towards it are many.

[I.e., unity in diversity -- the creed of the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr]

Yes, let's continue to insult SV's anyway we can.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

I can't wait for reactions to this:

    St. John XXIII

    John XXIII Theological Institute
    of
The American Catholic Church in the United States

"Divine Spirit, renew your wonders in this our age as in a new Pentecost, and grant that your Church, praying perseveringly and insistently with one heart and mind together with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and guided by blessed Peter,
may increase the reign of the Divine Savior, the reign of truth and justice,
the reign of love and peace. Amen."

[Scroll says, "We are not on earth to guard a museum but to cultivate a
flourishing garden of life." And "John XXIII of Rome" at the bottom.]

This prayer of Pope John XXIII used in convoking the Second Vatican Council, gives a prophetic vision of the new Pentecost in the Church, expressing it in capsule form. It serves as a vision for what the Church could be in its mission to help bring forward God’s Reign.

That's not the "Resurrected Christ" as much as it is the Cross of
Christ the King, because I don't see any wounds in His hands,
feet or side, as would be if it were showing His resurrected body.

I'm not so sure about it, either.  So I'm with you.  We went around
about this when a picture was posted from Winona with Fr.
Themann standing in front of one of these, and I called it a
"Resurrectifix" and some of the Fellayites were flustered.

In my view, the Crucifix of Our Lord says all we need to say,
and any attempt to change it or turn it into something else is
an abuse.  It's just that simple.
     There is no shortage of
wonderful crucifixes that are available, so we have no excuse for
needing to look for some replacement like this.
