Born January 19 1807. This is Lee-Jackson Week for those parts of the South that are still Southern, as it were.

Of course others will be marking that other individual of a human reprobate, communist, plagiarist and overall evil (wont say that word here that starts with a n and has two g's in it )

I raise my bourbon, my pipe tabaccy, and southern fried chicken in toasting a great Confederate. May the South rise again and become truly Catholic

God bless General Lee. from what I remember in reading cινιℓ ωαr history, the great general only went with the Confederacy because Virginia went that way. Otherwise, he would've joined the ranks with his fellow West Pointers and the war would've been over a lot quicker. But Lee would not have fit in well with the Union, he was deeply religious man and a true, fine Southern Gentleman, the north didn't deserve him. I don't know if he was the best general this country ever had, but, with Jackson at his flank, they were almost impossible to defeat.They gave the Union nightmares. Upon hearing the  the loss of Jackson, Lee declared he literally lost his " right arm", ironically, Jackson had his left amputated before he died.
And the south never recovered. Even with the exploits of perhaps the greatest general in American history.
