  • Symbolism over substance

A fad has been circulating on Facebook recently. You post, for the whole world to see, what color bra you're wearing -- just the color, nothing else. If you're not wearing one, you post that tidbit of information as well!

Talk about immodest! Does anyone know what modesty IS anymore? Modesty is about restraining yourself. That involves manners, bearing, clothing, speech, etc.

A woman in a thick, black, ankle-length skirt sitting on a couch with her legs spread would be immodest -- even if her skirt still covered her legs down to one inch from the ankle.  Moreover, the same woman, if she were sitting in an appropriate manner, would be immodest if she talked about anything and everything, even things that could lead men into sin.

How does typing a few letters on a keyboard -- "lime green", "white", "neon orange" -- help anyone with breast cancer? I'm serious -- does it, or will it, save ONE LIFE or prolong a single breast cancer sufferer's life by so much as 5 minutes? No, it will not.
I think everyone who has attained the use of reason is well aware of the concept of Breast Cancer. You can't buy cereal or measuring spoons in October without being bombarded with pink ribbons everywhere.

  • Maybe I am being a nutty conspiracy theorist but I am wondering if the government is even trying to come up with cures for these diseases. If they had cures they would have no more need to throw money at these problems.

It's just like homelessness and poverty, we have spent so much money on these issues that we should have no more poor and homeless people. But of course if we had no more poor and homeless then the left wing would have no one left to "help."

I don't think you are nutty at all. Even if they had a cure for cancer, they would never let it come out. At least not to the little people. And I'm not sure it is even the government in this case. At least not directly. There is way too much money in poisoning people with chemo, cutting out tumors, and burning them with radiation. As a matter of fact, I would say that cancer is what keeps these hospitals running along with expensive aspirin in order to allow mom to take a kid to the doctor everytime he has a sniffle. Of course they get to go for "free", or a very modest co-pay.

  • In one of Jesse Ventura's "Conspiracy" shows, he was talking about the world rulers (might as well admit one world government exists) want to cut the population down by billions to make it more manageable. The way they are going to do this is by poisoning the food and water (already being done...think Aspartame) and of course by forced vaccination like swine flu.

I may have already posted the link for Jesse's program on another part of the forum...in fact I did...under the vaccine topic in the health and nutrition section.

  • To comment on a few posts --

Yes, from what I've read I conclude that cancer has been cured several times over. They would never let a true "cure" out, because then all the expensive treatments would be obsolete. Can you believe that a few greedy men would put money before people's lives? You better. If not, you are quite naive about how the world works.

I've also heard that bras contribute to breast cancer. If you have a metal support frame, it's twice as bad. The latter has to do with magnetic fields. Bras tend to restrict circulation of the lymphatic system, which doesn't have a "heart" to keep fluids moving.

Mammograms can also contribute to breast cancer.

But a big one to watch out for: deodorant with aluminum (which is all of them!) Aluminum is absorbed by the body, but it can't easily be purged. If you want to drastically reduce your risk of breast cancer, stop using commercial underarm deodorant.

If you want something just as effective, use baking soda. Yes, baking soda. You could work on a construction site all day in 95 degree heat, but if you have baking soda handy you won't stink. What do you think they put in various products to help control odor? Baking soda. It's cheap and natural.

Baking soda is a very powerful deodorant. 35 cents for a decent sized box!

  •   Beween devil and the dead sea!
But not using that kind of clothing causes immodesty. Imagine a 15 yr old girl who still loves to jump and run..... Imagine a scence when she is jumping and running without it!
Using that clothing makes breasts less appearent and also smaller. So you attract less undue attention.

  • I don't know about the anti-perspirant or bra connection to breast canncer.  But I do believe that abortions and birth control pills are definitely linked to breast cancer.  My mother died at the age of 45 of breast cancer.  I learned later that she'd had 3 abortions in her lifetime.  I read that each act of abortion increases a woman's chance of contracting breast cancer by 30%.

National Cancer Institute Researcher Admits Abortion Breast Cancer Link

    By Thaddeus M. Baklinski

WASHINGTON, DC, January 7, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - U.S. National Cancer Institute researcher Dr. Louise Brinton, who was the chief organizer of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) workshop in 2003 that persuaded women that it was "well established" that "abortion is not associated with increased breast cancer risk," has reversed her position and now admits that abortion and oral contraceptives raise breast cancer risks.

An April 2009 study by Jessica Dolle et al. of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center examining the relationship between oral contraceptives (OCs) and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), an aggressive form of breast cancer associated with high mortality, in women under age 45, contained an admission from Dr. Brinton and her colleagues that abortion raises breast cancer risk by 40%.

The study found that "a statistically significant 40% increased risk for women who have abortions" exists, and that a " 270% increased risk of triple negative breast cancer (an aggressive form of breast cancer associated with high mortality) among those who used oral contraceptives while under age 18 and a 320% increased risk of triple negative breast cancer among recent users (within 1-5 years) of oral contraceptives," also exists.

This means that women who start using OCs before age 18 multiply their risk of TNBC by 3.7 times and recent users of OCs within the last one to five years multiply their risk by 4.2 times.

"Although the study was published nine months ago," stated Karen Malec, president of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer, in a press release, "the NCI, the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and other cancer fundraising businesses have made no efforts to reduce breast cancer rates by issuing nationwide warnings to women."

"Obviously, more women will die of breast cancer if the NCI fails in its duty to warn about the risks of OCs and abortion and if government funds are used to pay for both as a part of any healthcare bill," said Mrs. Malec.

Last year, studies from Turkey and China also reported statistically significant risk increases for women who had abortions.

The Turkish study reported a 66% increased risk of breast cancer for women with abortions while the Chinese study found a statistically significant 17% increased breast cancer risk among Chinese women who had induced abortions.

Mrs. Malec said, "The Chinese and the Turkish studies are relevant considering the debate over government-funded abortion through healthcare reform" in the US. "Government-funded abortion means more dead American women from breast cancer."

An abstract of the Jessica Dolle study is available here.

Thanks for this!  I never thought of that one before.  Taking baking soda internally, a half teaspoon in water 2x a day, is thought to prevent all kinds of cancer as well.

  • It's kind of like AIDS...how did Magic Johnson survive all this time with his AIDS? He's still alive as far as I know.

  • I knew about the deodorant cancer link years ago. I never used deodorant anyway, even before I knew - didn't need to.

And I don't know why breast cancer has become such a focus-it is not even the leading cause of cancer deaths for women.

  •   I am confused! End does not justify the mean, but sometimes an action which is normally sinful becomes OK, for example when someone's life is in danger. (seeing the naked body of people for doctors, killing in self defence etc.)
But somethings are never licit, like denying your faith, commiting adultery etc.
Don't you think that this discussion on color, immodest as it is, could be licit if it could prevent someone's death from cancer?

  • I'm sure we could come up with a few hundred better ways to spread awareness. So, no, I don't think the color sharing is justified.

spouse, would you still think it possibly justifiable if women went around topless to "spread awareness"? Certainly not.

Perhaps they should all share what type of deodorant they use instead -- that might get people thinking.
