You have been warned that I will not tolerate such disruptions on my forum again. Regardless of how much you feel you've been wronged, or what apologies you think you're owed. Take to up with them personally via e-mail or something. Leave this forum out of it.

You have many good points, but you must remember that it is wrong to provoke a man to anger. And you certainly shouldn't "tease" a man or exaggerate his faults -- which would be slander. Provoking to anger is a sin; it actually can be a mortal sin. Slander is also sinful. For example, it is a fact that Telesphorus is not perverted for being attracted to 18 year old women. Even 17 year old women, while considered "underage" in the USA, are sɛҳuąƖly mature and certainly not pre-pubescent!  Let us be accurate and fair in our criticism, and not distort or violate Truth.

But, long story short, leave Telesphorus alone about his quest for a wife.

You seemed to be complaining about my moderation of the forum, but how exactly am I supposed to moderate PRIVATE MESSAGES?  You realize, of course, that an inflammatory post like the PM you posted would normally get deleted by me *before* it starts trouble.  But the message you received from Tele wasn't a public post, it was a private message to you. I've warned Tele about sending such messages in the future -- what it will mean for the status of his CathInfo account.

Someone also brought up Tele's popularity (reputation score). He has a decently high score because he is very intelligent and insightful about matters touching on the Crisis in the Church and the modern world. When he talks about anything other than "what happened to him in Ohio", "celebrating a marriage" or a couple other topics, he gets lots of agreement. In fact, many of his posts would probably get more thumbs up if they weren't from "Telesphorus", a poster who some have resolved to never give any positive feedback to.

When he brings up his pet topics -- which he is practically obsessed about -- he gets hundreds of downvotes.

Raoul, Matthew is correct. Tele gets positive votes because most people here agree with him about the discussions between the SSPX and Rome.

Why can't you just let the issue drop?

Telesphorus has received 3592 upvotes total.

31% of them are from his top 2 "fans". This is a little high, but not ridiculous. Many users have around 23-30% of their upvotes from their top 2 fans.

The #3 fan gave 155 upvotes, #4 gave 152, #5 gave 141, #6 gave 117, and it goes down from there.

So the other 1800 upvotes came in bundles of less than 117.

And lest you think only 18 people gave him those 1800...

#10 gave 84.
#20 gave 33.
#30 gave 24.
And at #30, I'm about 1/5 of the way through the list!

That means a *lot* of people gave upvotes to contribute to his 3592 total.

Face it, Raoul, despite Tele's problems he has some redeeming qualities.

Why is that so hard to believe? You once said that he's applied his decent intelligence to coming up with complicated theories to explain what happened to him in Ohio. But that implies he is a deep thinker/philosopher and that he has an intellect with which to construct these explanations.

I know, this would goad anyone who HATES Tele, those who thinks he's a waste of breath, etc. but since when is hatred for a human being compatible with the Catholic Faith?

I can agree with this. With regards to the PM I don't think anyone expects you to moderate PMs, it was the fact that he has been absent, for the very purpose of taking a break, getting away, letting things die down, and returns only to find that, with no instigation on his part. After repeated PMs it's not that surprising he was finally done with it.

To many who see only what's on the forum, the Tele thing is no big deal, I get that. But there's more of an undercurrent than people realize, there are very real people [/i]in real life[/i] who are deeply affected by his threats that are not just internet talk and those PMs give a bit more insight for those who don't realize this.

He even came over to s2s's chat and gloated over there after s2s was banned here. What's the point of that but to further incite even when he was already up?

There are some people who enjoy inciting Tele, I know that, I saw it on FE, but he is far from the victim he tries to portray. In fact the intelligence of which you speak highly is exactly what is used to accomplish this image.

Aside from that, if he has been warned, that's enough for me to know you have good intentions in being fair. I'll liken it to being a parent with a wayward child, you can only say you disagree so many times and if action never takes place, the child becomes untouchable and incorrigeable.

That's how things have been around here. No one name calls as viciously and gratuitously as Tele. That and the blatant racism, the sour grapes ANYtime the word woman comes up in a thread etc... and you can say you disagree with it all you want but eventually those words mean nothing. He becomes bolder and bolder and others feel the need to step in. It's not their job but no one else is doing anything so they feel compelled to act.

However, if you are prepared to act and he knows it now, perhaps the rants will subside and we can successfully ignore each other. Perhaps receivers of nasty PMs will feel more comfortable reporting them to you instead of posting them if they know they will be taken seriously and not rationalized away because he has upvotes. Sometimes public and private are two very different worlds.

Well, I visited s2s's site and someone with the name "Joe" wrote in the chat "I am so glad Richard was banned from CathInfo".

Tele's name is Joe, so I can understand why wallflower would have thought it was him. But he said he didn't do it, so it must have been someone posing as Tele in an attempt to hurt his reputation.

It certainly was not me, it might have been someone else named Joe.  

If it was someone trying to impersonate me, I would hope they'd have the sense and decency to stop.
