That's a really dense timeline, Croixalist. Where would a person go to learn more about Opus Dei? I really don't know anything about them. But the material here certainly seems to suggest something more than a fleeting interest between Marshall and Opus Dei.
I'm not exactly an expert on the society. I'm sure a cursory search through Google will give you some good leads. Essentially though, the OD has always been seeking to prop up and emphasize the Protestant-laced laity in ways that typify the VII mandate, with a larger than average payroll. From the '80s through the early '00s, EWTN was the perfect place for these types become popularized. Converted Protestant Ministers transitioned almost effortlessly into a successful lay apostolate, like Scott Hahn. In recent years it seems to be specializing in redirecting Latin Mass traditionalist Catholic interest into yet another contradictory faction within the Novus Ordo regime via modern social media. Michael Voris was first major notable personality that I can recall in this vein. While Voris was not a former Protestant, he certainly was one of the biggest ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs ever to have a "reversion" after spending his entire adult life in unrepentant perversion. Here he is looking like a gαy man waiting for a parade to join:
Taylor Marshall is relatively new to the scene and usually takes the pre-approved FSSP view on things. If you're looking for an introduction to a particular topic, he can be useful but you can't go too far with him before you start to see the problems. Then there's Timothy Green as his cohost with that soul patch and the permanent expression of a clueless "dude-bro" stuck on his face. The last thing I thought I'd ever see Taylor connected to was a major retaliation against VII or Pope Francis. I was even surprised when he was able to come up with that exclusive interview with Tschugguel. Now I know why! Interestingly, Alexander himself fits the Opus Dei fairly well: former Prot, lots of posturing and plenty of money.
Archbishop Schneider and Cardinal Burke currently serve as the major validators for these kinds of "conservative" Catholics. All that is needed is just enough to promise change but never deliver. It's the most basic controlled opposition in operation today. That may change depending on how big this whole Tschugguel deal is going to be this Easter. Dimes will get you demagogues it turns out to have some amazing pricetag attached to it.
