Ahhh..no. I disagree with the article almost diametrically. God gave government the power to maintain law and order on earth. Only when that power is abused with unnecessary laws and shows of useless force are when I agree with the author... google "Oathkeepers".
I have alot of experience with police procedure and technique , and the taser is actually one of the greatest inventions in recent years for law enforcement. Less injuries, virtually NO deaths compared to how force used to be dealt with (clubs and batons), and both parties can walk away from the incident with the criminal alive and in the back of the cruiser instead of in a morgue truck. Compliance is a #2 , right behind officer safety, and when a criminal is non-compliant, situations get hairy quickly and both officer and offender (presumed) can get hurt. People need to understand that officers do not know who you are, what you have in your purse or coat, between your seats or in your hand in a pocket. You must follow the just directions of an officer if in a situation where legally justified, which is pretty much EVERY encounter you have with police outside your home and on a public road. They dont know if you just raped a 12 year old girl as per their last BOLO notice, if you've fled the scene of an accident with a dead body in your trunk and drunk off some booze, or if you're just on a day trip with mommy and the kids. Just comply, be polite, and it'll go smooth. Even if the officer is being a jerk or a class-act certain type of "hole", let it roll so you can get out of there quickly. Why exacerbate the situation if the officer is not breaking any constitutional authority or state/local laws? Asking "why" will lead to at the worst more time of the stop's duration or at the worst your face in the pavement , guns drawn because you didn't pull your hands in plain sight or were cranky and didnt want to obey. Go explain everything in court.. the police aren't dealers of justice, just enforcers.
Its the liberal-nanny nation that has a problem with authority, which I suspect that mom and plenty of others (like that author), have and reject any other human being having some authority over them... practice some humility whoever has a hard time understanding when to hand over a drivers license or step out of the vehicle and off the roadway.
