The Church condemned socialism and communism in all it's forms, PERIOD.
The Church has never condemned capitalism, only criticized it's excesses and abuses.

I recently read" Toward a Truly Free Market" by John C. Medaille ( a traditional Catholic, who sometimes has articles in the The Remnant, a trad Catholic periodical), and found it to be enlightening. Mr. Medaille has a website where you can read his material.


Oh, the total title of the book is "Toward a Truly Free Market - A Distributists Perspective on the Role of Government, Taxes, Health Care, Deficits, and More"

Google John C. Medaille and you'll get a ton of articles on his website.

I would certainly recommend IHS Press and the books they have published and reprinted. More and more people are putting the theory in to practice. With the recent Rebuilding Christendom conference, it's essential to maintain the momentum.
