Quote from: MarlelarCan anyone suggests books that explain Catholic teaching and economic theory? I understand a bit about why capitalism, communism, and socialism and other -isms aren't in line with Church teaching but I would like to know more. I have read a bit on distributism but since it "died on the vine" I can only assume that it is not viable either. What is? Are there books explaining/promoting a Catholic economic theory?Marsha The Church condemned socialism and communism in all it's forms, PERIOD.The Church has never condemned capitalism, only criticized it's excesses and abuses.I recently read" Toward a Truly Free Market" by John C. Medaille ( a traditional Catholic, who sometimes has articles in the The Remnant, a trad Catholic periodical), and found it to be enlightening. Mr. Medaille has a website where you can read his material.
