    • maybe off-topic topic, but I scrolled down to a news story of doctors killing babies by withdrawing food and water in their incubators.  Holy Mother of Sorrows, pray for us.  An ocean of murdered baby blood...

    • It's an algae bloom - NOT AN OMEN.

    It's caused by excessive deposits of nitrate, typically from chemical fertilizer or manures.  

    Either there was some nasty run-off or leaching from some farms upstream, or somebody dumped sewage.

    So until somebody draws out a gallon of pure blood out of the water, pay this stuff no mind. Otherwise you're displaying your ignorance to anyone who works with or lives near a significant body of water.

    Well, it's hardly earth-shattering news that tourists and locals are advised not to go swimming, though of course many did.

    There are rivers of blood flood flowing in Palestine. which we hardly hear a word about.
