The 2nd Mass (10:00 AM) was more sparsely populated than usual -- I didn't know why at the time.

Now I figured it out -- it's Superbowl Sunday.

I can't believe how many people wait until *hours before the event* to buy food for their Superbowl parties. Has no one heard of the concept of "planning"?

In the region where I live there is only one grocery store besides Wal-mart -- and that grocery store (H-E-B) is usually very good about having enough checkout aisles open, so you don't have to wait in line forever (as opposed to Wal-mart, which is extremely stingy about how many checkout lines it opens -- you'd swear they weren't making any money, but I know better!).

But today there were 6 or 7 carts full *in each line* and all the possible checkouts were open. Luckily I got into an express line, since I just had a few things.

Groceries, yes. We live in the country, and I can honestly say we don't go into town except on Sunday (for Mass). If I had a job in town, we lived in town, or found ourselves in town during the week for any reason, we certainly *would not* be doing even grocery shopping on Sunday. It would be so easy to avoid it!

I know, it's not the most idealistic or inspirational behavior in the world for a single guy your age, but I had to compromise/take a more pragmatic stance on a few minor things (unfortunately) when I had to deal with the realities of raising and providing for a wife and 4 children.

No, I do not watch the Super Bowl. (I thought my original post made that pretty clear) That's why I just found out about it a few hours ago.

Besides, if you knew me you'd know we don't even have a TV set. And I *hate* the concept of spectator sports. I don't even especially like playing them. But I'm not diametrically opposed to playing them -- just opposed to watching them.

Well I apologize if I came off sounding like a judgemental pharisee, I didn't know your exact situation. I have been reading a lot of stuff on working on Sunday's, like Our Lady of La Salette, and I am worried that by shopping we are encouraging another person's mortal sin (working on sunday).

Roscoe is refering to me. Let me make some things clear before roscoe starts spewing more calumny about me.

First of all, I did watch Super Bowl XLIV (44, in 2010) and used to be a huge sports fanatic, which is understandable since I used to be a Novus Ordite and have a Protestant father who is obsessed with sports. I was mainly interested in watching the Super Bowl in 2010 because the New Orleans Saints were playing in it. Even Matthew, who doesn't even have a television, said he was pulling for the Saints when they played in it. Plus I had only been a Traditional Catholic for one week at the time, so you have to cut me some slack.

No, I'm not interested in the Super Bowl anymore. I think it's just another modern world invention to get people's mind of the fact that Sunday is God's Day. I'm not a fan of the Super Bowl anymore, so I would appreciate it if roscoe would stop painting me as some lazy football fanatic who sits on the couch every Sunday with a bowl of popcorn watching sports. That's not how I spend my Sundays. I assure you I won't be watching.

Furthermore, playing sports on Sunday is sinful. One of the priets at the Traditional parish I watch online (since I have no TLM to attend) gave a sermon about what's sinful to do on Sundays and what isn't. He didn't mention sports specifically, but he said that any unnecessary labor on Sunday is sinful.

Minor: Playing sports is unnecessary labor.

Unnecessary LABOR? Are you serious? Anyone playing sports on Sunday is obviously PLAYING. Maybe professional sports (where you're paid to do it) or some kind of competitive sports that take up your whole day -- but saying you can't throw around the football, basketball, or hockey puck on Sunday is news to me. Tell that to the traditional Catholic seminarians in Winona! Mandatory 2 hours outside recreation every Wednesday and Sunday, during which time most seminarians played sports.

Sorry Matthew, I wasn't specific enough. I meant professional sports, I didn't mean that it was sinful to just go out in the yard and throw a football on Sunday. The former is technically labor, the latter is just play. My apologies.

I always skip and ignore superbowl sunday. There are always more important things to do on

I didn't see the halftime show, but I saw an article on it while I was catching up on news this evening and something really shocked me.

The halftime show as described in this article (was linked from Drudge) and the pictures suggest the most occult performance I can ever remember taking place to an audience this large.

You may have heard the halftime show was Madonna, well...

She not only dresses as an Egyptian something-or-other (monarch? Priestess?), surrounded by Egyptian themed followers in what appear to be some Egyptian ritual.

She later hand signals numerous 'shapes' around the stage during the performance (even the article points this out, calling it 'throwing shapes'). When she does this she's often in odd postures. These hand signals are apropos of nothing, and clearly veiled language.

The stage itself has some disturbing images projecting from the floor and is shown numerous times from above, with a single all-seeing eye.

Also, later she has a large gathering of 'followers'/dancers/whatever in black robes, a protty choir, and what appears to be yet another wardrobe change into a *black chasuble* (even the ignorant Daily Mail calls it a "priests' outfit"!!!!) and what appears to be black mass-like gaggle of acolytes surrounding her.

She is accompanied in a cameo by 2 other younger pop singers, one a practitioner (or dabbler) of an afro-Caribbean thing herself, the other the daughter of a Tamil Marxist founder of a syncretic Hinduist-Muslim terrorist group called (I am not making this up) *EROS* (seriously, 'Eros'!)

With Madonna the cabalist and these 2, is this the first foray into a syncretic one world pop religion?

Lastly, the finale is the black clad adepts spelling out the one world government motto "World Peace" only visible from above.

Very, very disturbing and blatant on multiple levels...

I'm sure I don't have to spell anything out for the readers here's, but see some still photos here, there are about 3-4 immodest photos (grading on a curve) of her and another 3 of her with some 'cheerleaders'. If you will be scandalized of course do not click this, but I feel most of us can use our own judgement or handle this without any occasion of sin so here's the link:

Madonna could have been doing something with actual meaning in the demonic/occult world. Remember, these clowns like to project everything they do (and are about to do) in broad daylight, getting some kind of jollies off the fact that it goes over everyone's head.

Like the 9/11 magazine in a pre-September 11, 2001 episode of The Simpsons.

Indeed, Hoffman's work in this arena was invaluable.

You're absolutely right there's a lot of knee-slapping at the 'unilluminated rubes' who don't 'get' such symbolism, but such guffaws are by lower level and medium level functionaries in the occult ranks. Such rank and file are usually quite satisfied with the notion of 'being in the know' in and of itself, and comparably meager financial rewards of association at times.

Being "in the know" is usually the stroke their egos need and they ask little in return for it.

That being said, they usually aren't initiated in the inner ranks even within such societies, where the consensus is not that such public signifiers are to flaunt power and taunt pursuit (the 911 examples being the largest in recent memory), but because such 'twilight language' itself has a real effect on the mass and individual psyches. Both in terms of 'priming' the desired reaction, potentiating a stronger reaction once the referenced event actually occurs, but also in terms of 'subliminal' messaging or speaking to the subconscious of many via an archetype-rich almost-dream language that operates on an individual somewhere between waking and unconscious states (the 'debunking' of subliminal messaging products in the last 25 years was an attempt at closing Pandora's box btw)

So, they don't do it just for a laff or a derisive snort at the unwashed masses, but for a purpose: to bring into being the very thing they wish to signify sometimes, or at other times, to give added emotional weight to an event once it does occur.

I don't doubt it. That creature is the ape, the whore of the world, the anti Queen of Heaven whom I always thought would be the mother of the Antichrist.

Whatever ceremony was performed at the Super Bowl was an invocation, or a statement of some type-sort of their version of the televised Midnight Mass at the Vatican.

You know that creature copyrighted the holy word Madonna, right? That's why people don't use the word anymore as they did when I was a child.
