Matthew,

Is there a way you could put an alternative "view" link where we could see ALL posts in ALL categories listed by time of post on one page?

Not sure if I'm the only one, but I think that would be a great way we could see the most recent posts, regardless of category, at one time.

Anyway, just a thought!

Nevermind, I think I actually figured out how to do it.

I wasn't aware that the column headings doubled as sorting hyperlinks.

Actually, my suggestion still stands.

I was sorting within a category, not on the general page.

Have you tried "new posts" up by your user name? I think that might be what you're looking for.

I have a suggestion too -- more people need to sign up. This place is dying! Matthew, you'd better let CM back on. Even endlessly spiraling debates about baptism of desire would perk things up at this point.

Dying? Perhaps if your metric is number of posts by CM.

By any other metric -- hits, visitors/day, posts, new users -- the site is doing fine. A bit off the peaks we were experiencing during the heart of the SGG affair, but we're still growing.

It's hard to beat the comedy Great Monarch comes out with.

My gosh! Living under the "Great Monarch" would make living in a harsh Muslim country like Saudi Arabia (where they cut off your hand for stealing) a paradise.

You know, it's funny that this thread should pop up; I had a strange part in my dream this morning about Cathinfo that Matthew had made a really random improvement to the forum.

At the bottom of the main page that lists the categories, he made it so that you could see the last three or four times someone replied to someone. I'm not sure how that worked, but I think it had to do with who quoted who at what time. Like, if I had been quoted by Raoul, it would show that Raoul had replied to my message.

It also gave a little description of what the message was about. Basically the whole setup was like a box just under the categories, and each time someone replied, a new box inside the box at the top would appear that showed who replied in bold, and like the first 100 characters or so of their reply under their name. Really weird.
