  • Does anyone know if this place is SSPX, sede, tolerant of Sedes, or what? I'm confused and if anyone in the DC area knows that would be nice as I visited it recently.

  • I have been there, although I do not live in that area.  If I did, I would go and just take care of business, so to speak.  Fr Ringrose is NOT sede, but I spoke to the folks who run the school about teaching there, and they knew I see the crisis differently than he does.  It did not bother them.

Good folks...nice place...go, get what you need...

If you want me to ask around about other options, I can.  I know there might be some, but I do not know them off the top of my head.

  • Eamon, thank you! I knew it that the place wasn't full on. Just got to get what I need as you said so eloquently.

Please do let me know if you got any more ideas for the area. I'm out in western VA so its a little haul to DC but worth it. Any pretty Churches that allow us types?

  • Fr. Ringrose received conditional ordination from Archbishop Lefebvre.

I heard something about it having a stained glass window of Abp. Lefebvre. Did you notice?

Not at all. I was told by about it some time ago by person who saw the church. I was now asking a person who saw the church recently. Can you grasp the difference?  :laugh2:

Are you itching for an argument?

One saw it...some time ago...while the other saw it...recently.

Indeed, the difference seems clear enough...as does the similarity, oddly enough.  Thank you :)

I do not know what you are getting at.

One person I know saw the church a while ago and the saw the stained glass window. I am asking Partytisover who visited the church recently if he or she saw it. Perhaps it has been removed or perhaps Party did not notice it.

Do you mind me asking for some reason?

Ok, it will be interesting to see if it's still there.

  • I guess my question would be, IF there is a stained glass image of Abp. LeFebvre at the chapel, (or there was one) what does this mean?

Is it a good thing?  Neutral?  Or just plain weird and cult-like?  And how will we know the answer?

  • I too live in the area and I am looking for a real Traditional Mass.  The Church I've been attending only performs the NO mass in Latin/the priest celebrates the Eucharist facing toward the altar, and all of this is a step in the right direction certainly, but I'm more interested in a Mass in which I can fully use my 1962 Roman Missal.

If anyone has any suggestions, they'd be appreciated.

You live in what area?  The area in and around Washington DC?  Go to St. Athanasius in Vienna, VA.
