  • What would be the extent of a SSPX split due to the possible Rome agreement?

     Especially here in the USA?

  • I believe that there will no agreement with Rome because they are to far apart.
And that Rome will never give up insisting that SSPX accept Vatican 2 in its
    entirety.

  • Whoever splits off will loose all the properties. That's why you only see small groups break off from the SSPX, they have nothing to loose.

That is always the case with all chapels. The shepherd has been struck, and the sheep scattered, all the scattered groups are not the Church, and no one should think that they will last forever.

Having come from a family that lost everything,  country, home, all our money, I have never been one that thinks it was a good idea to build expensive chapels during this time. Someone can just come and take it, whether a parishioner, or a priest, or Rome. And the bigger and better the property, the more chance that someone will want it.

They can take the properties, but they can't take away your soul, that is where one has to build his fortress, which no one can take.

If they are too far apart then why are they taking sooo long in making a final decision?  :scared2:

  • +Williamson once said if it could happen to the Dominicans, Franciscans, Jesuits, etc... then it could happen to the SSPX.

The Church has 2 signs of Her unity: The Pope and the Eucharist, which will endure until the end of time. Whoever splits off from either of these is no longer in the Church.

How does one "split off" from the Holy Eucharist?

I am convinced that it will never happen. It's just a show that they are
doing something. Just an argument club that goes nowhere.
SSPX will never surrender, nor will the Vatican. Just an perpetual
    stalemate.

Many Protestant sects continue to perform the communion rite without valid orders or believing in the Real Presence.

    Very wise words.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

If you can't read a short article refuting your views, why point me to an encyclical?

Have you read it? I have.

Protestants are split off from the Church through heresy. It is as a result of that and their invalid orders and rites that they have no valid Masses and therefore no valid Holy Eucharist.

You wrote: "The Church has 2 signs of Her unity: The Pope and the Eucharist, which will endure until the end of time. Whoever splits off from either of these is no longer in the Church."

Can you point us to Church teaching that says that?
