Contributors have been too careless with their money.
That is always the case with all chapels. The shepherd has been struck, and the sheep scattered, all the scattered groups are not the Church, and no one should think that they will last forever.
Having come from a family that lost everything, country, home, all our money, I have never been one that thinks it was a good idea to build expensive chapels during this time. Someone can just come and take it, whether a parishioner, or a priest, or Rome. And the bigger and better the property, the more chance that someone will want it.
They can take the properties, but they can't take away your soul, that is where one has to build his fortress, which no one can take.
