    Her shoes/sandals were probably hurting her feet.  I'm fine with my dress shoes when I go to Mass and I don't do much walking, but when I wear them for a long period of time and have to do a lot of walking (like I did earlier this week for an orientation and tour, we had to walk from building to building for several hours) it got very uncomfortable.  I probably need thicker socks.

  • Actually it's a custom at Walsingham for some to walk the last mile or so barefoot. Not for everyone perhaps but can be a good reminder that pilgrimages arenot the same as day excursions or holidays....

    Holy Mother of Walsingham pray for us!
