SSPX friendly?  People are people.  Some are friendly; some are not.  If you're looking for friendly folks, may I suggest you join a social club or an organisation of some sort?
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

    No.

    Go.

As in any place, steer clear of the grouchy looking ones.  :ape:

  • Why would you ask our opinion?  Don't you think CathInfo is a cesspool of hate?
You have the same name as someone at FE who said this very thing.

I was welcomed when I was a newcomer, but I can't speak about the SSPX in general.

I have been a member for a while and I don't think Cathinfo is a cesspool of hate. I have only been insulted or mistreated on one occasion by one poster. Other than that I haven't had any problems. I haven't noticed that much hatred of other people either, though I don't see all the posts.

  • The answer is simple -- I'd avoid the SSPX. Upon registering at an SSPX parish, the authorities inject each new parishioner with Meanie serum, so they involuntarily become mean to everyone outside the group.

Is that the answer you were looking for?

    Seriously, though...

The SSPX has (tens of? hundreds of?) thousands of parishioners. How can a person make any useful generalization about such a large group?

Each of the souls attending a Traditional chapel is doing so with a different background, for different reasons, and with his own Free Will. Each person is free to sin, practice virtue, or just sit there.

Verily, I have viewed vicious vice and valiant virtue represented in just about every venue of Tradition. And yes, I mean your Trad group as well. :)

I've seen devout Catholics in all the groups, and I've seen sorry excuses for Catholics in all the groups. You really can't generalize; it's very hard to draw an accurate conclusion. It's too easily skewed by one's personal experience.

  • I go for the Holy Mass more than for anything else.

I recently started attending the SSPX and the people are very friendly. They treated us like family!

  • Hi Dominvs,  I can only speak from my own experience but i found the SSPX very friendly and welcoming for anybody interested in Tradition.  I can also say the same about our resistance chapel since I know most of the people that left to form that too!  Especially coming from the NO which I converted into, our local traditional chapels have been a breath of fresh air.

  • Personal experience, people were very friendly and welcoming in my SPPX Chapel.

Far, far more friendly than the FSSP Parish I used to go before.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.
