The answer is simple -- I'd avoid the SSPX. Upon registering at an SSPX parish, the authorities inject each new parishioner with Meanie serum, so they involuntarily become mean to everyone outside the group.

The SSPX has (tens of? hundreds of?) thousands of parishioners. How can a person make any useful generalization about such a large group?
Each of the souls attending a Traditional chapel is doing so with a different background, for different reasons, and with his own Free Will. Each person is free to sin, practice virtue, or just sit there.
Verily, I have viewed vicious vice and valiant virtue represented in just about every venue of Tradition. And yes, I mean your Trad group as well. :)
I've seen devout Catholics in all the groups, and I've seen sorry excuses for Catholics in all the groups. You really can't generalize; it's very hard to draw an accurate conclusion. It's too easily skewed by one's personal experience.
