I am not sure how many nuns they have at present.  I know they have had several young girls joining in recent years, I think three just recently entered.

There are three separate orders that fall under CMRI, that each have their own constitutions, rules and superiors.  

1.  The Sisters of Mary Immaculate Queen, the CMRI nuns. (Blue habit)

2.  The Congregation of the Mother of God.  (Black habit)

3.  There is another smaller order of nuns that work under CMRI in northern Idaho, but I cannot remember their name.  I think this order takes late vocations.

The newsletter I posted only covers the activities of the CMRI nuns, but as far as I know all three orders are mostly teaching orders that operate Catholic grade schools and high schools.


What is the difference between the CMRI nuns with a blue scapular and those with a brown one?

They have a "good habit" for feast days and a regular one for everyday. I'm pretty sure the brown one is the good one, I've seen them wear them on special feasts.
