  • Does anyone know of good spiritual reading on vanity?  Specifically vanity causing a repugnance to a life of penance?

    Thanks.

I might start here, with Garrigou-Lagrange:

You'll see the links on the left side navigation bar.  Part 2 discusses vainglory and other capital sins, and the dynamic among them.

Your post has inspired me to look into this subject relative to my own spirituality.

Perhaps try reading Humility of Heart by  Fr. Cajetan Mary da Bergamo.  It helped me a lot in regards to this, though its primary focus is pride rather than vanity.

Keep fighting and may God bless you!
