I thought I'd start the opening thread on this discussion, as I'm sure there's going to be plenty of speculation on this in the coming days.
When I started to think about who Benedict's successor will be, I started to groan in my mind at each person that I thought of. Imagine, if you will, one of these jokers ascending to the Papal Throne: Archbishop Gerhard Muller Cardinal Timothy Dolan Cardinal Kurt Koch
I'm not looking forward to the Papacy being held by more modernists, but it's really just wishful thinking if I were to hope that dozens of modernist cardinals are going to come to the decision to elect a traditionalist. Who do you think has the most chance of becoming the next pope?
