  • I am reading this website about how the heroic spanish drove the muslim infidels out of Spain after 8 years of grueling fighting. It also mentioned how a lot of the crusaders who fought took monastic vows of virginity.

Does anyone see the connection between the re-conquistador chastity and their success to drive out the muslims? Was God giving them abundant graces because of the monastic virginity of these holy warriors?

I would love to read a column on this from Professor Plinio Correa de Oliveira.

I think it had more to do with remaining chaste than it did with the vow itself.

  •   I can't remember where I read it. But it is said that every act of copulation drives some energy out of your body. So perhaps remaining virginal keeps that energy from being lost.
It may be why young unmarried people are advised to exercise a lot as a way of getting rid of sɛҳuąƖ energy. It means there is some energy that can be got rid of or used!
But sometimes the love for one's family keeps a solider from risking his life when it is necessary. If you have someone worry about, a dear one that can be taken hostage or threatened, you can be more easily defeated than if you don't have.
