There's a divide, that's why. The NO Caholics that attend Mass are typically the more conservative ones. It's the twice-a-year [barring weddings, funerals, etc.] Catholics that do not care about the Church that disagree on essentially everything where the liberalism is.

My experience with liberals in the NO was that they were the women in slacks assisting in giving communion and other people who attended regularly and pretty much ran things.  If it was mainly the ones staying home, rather than the ones running the show, perhaps things would be a little better.

And yet... most terrifyingly... there's nothing particularly unique or unusual about him. Novus Ordo parishes are lousy with deep feeling shallow thinkers like him... many of them in polyester vestments, preaching this disordered deviltry from the pulpit...

Kyrie eleison...

Deep feeling shallow thinkers, vested in polyester, preaching disordered devilry from the pulpit.

Not a bad assessment, unfortunately.

We are witnessing the downfall of the "mainstream" Catholic Church.  Your grandchildren will one day ask you, "how could this have happened."

We are seeing it happen.  What will we tell our grandchildren?
