  • Ave Maria!
Is it a sin to buy thing, eg medals, from a Parish Catholic shop if this Parish embrace hand communion? I mean, maybe the money they get will go to supporting the Parish work that may include embracing hand communion.

  • I'm wondering how money would actually go toward supporting individuals who choose to receive Communion in the hand, really.  The profits would tend to cover the operational cost of the store: the paycheck of the sales clerks, the payment of bills, the acquisition of merchandise...that sort of thing.

  • If it's not morally acceptable to support a Novus Ordo bookstore, then we all better start learning to make our own EVERYTHING.

Patronizing a shop is a far cry from "supporting" it.

Thanks for the laugh. Reminds me of people who ask their parishes what time Midnight Mass is.

You were joking with that question, right? I hope so...
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • At Mount St. Michael we do make our own everything, including the hosts that we receive at Holy Communion.  We have a print shop, and make rosaries, scapulars etc.

I believe they order from Tan Publishers also.
    Please pray for my soul.

Sadly, according to last year's bulletin for the parish that hosts the only regularly scheduled weekly "extraordinary form" Mass in Indianapolis, Midnight Mass was at...8:00 pm on the 24th.

What person?  You mean the priest?
Dont you know the traditional way to receive Our Lord.?
Need to do your homework.  You must be Novus Ordo and have never seen the true church.

  • Is it a sin/Is it unethical to buy things/food form shops if you don't know that people working in the shops use the money to buy, eg. dangerus New Age items/books?
Maybe buying a book in a new age shop is sinful?=

I know a priest who tells people "10:30" when the call and ask that.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir
