  • I found this on the website of a Church in Manhattan called Holy Innocents where one of the indult Masses is held.

    Shrine of the unborn

It says that if you have an unborn baby who died you can have your baby's name inscribed in our "BOOK OF LIFE". This implies that those who died unborn and unbaptized are saved, when we know that all souls who die unbaptized are damned. In fact, having such a shrine seems troublesome because it would mean that the souls of the unborn dead can either be prayed to, or can benefit from our prayers. But since they are in hell (limbo is in hell) they cannot intercede for us, and being already damned, they cannot benefit from our prayers. So having such a shrine makes people believe that those who die unbaptized are either in Purgatory and need our prayers, or as I think the people who made this shrine believe, are in heaven and can intercede for us. This is why they call it the "Book of Life," because they believe those babies who die unbaptized are saved. Isn't the belief that the unbaptized are saved the heresy of Pelagianism? They even say masses in memory of those babies who are damned.

What do you think about this?
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • I've also seen this shrine and find it disturbing.  It seems to imply that abortion isn't so bad, after all.  It IS misleading. While aborted infants are not charged with actual sin and do not suffer the torment of hell, they do not intercede for us, and those responsible for aborting them surely DO suffer torment, or WILL if they do not repent before they die.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.
