  • Someone has asked me if I knew a "shorter" version of the Acts of Faith, Hope and Charity, and the Act of Contrition.  These would be indulgenced and Church-approved.

Well, I don't know of any, and am wondering if anyone else would know of this kind of alternative?  It would be a great help.

Thanks in advance and God bless you.

  • O my God I believe in Thee because Thou art truth itself.
I hope in Thee because Thou art infinitely merciful
I love Thee with my whole heart and above all things because Thou are infinitely perfect, and I love my neighbor as myself for love of Thee.
I am truly sorry for having sinned because Thou art infinitely good and sin displeases Thee..
I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace, never more to offend Thee. Amen

  • Shorter?  It's not as if these prayers take hours to pray.  They already are very short, taking just a few seconds each.  None of the four take more than about 20 seconds to say and all can be said in just over a minute.  Is this really too long to take to say these prayers?

  • Miseremini - Thank you for that help.  I am not sure that will end up being what they need, but I did send those two prayers to them.  It could be that's what they wanted - I have not received a reply.  But they are lovely prayers nonetheless.  God bless you.  - Merry
