  • I just remembered something

When I 20 or 21 the Selective Service of the United States came after me for not registering for the draft. I was told that I could enjoy a nice lengthy prison stay if I did not register.

I have mentioned this before, my nephew was serving in Iraq in the military while some low life dirt bag from Mexico stole his SSN and used it to work at Jack in the Box. The IRS came after my nephew and threatened his military career accusing him of not reporting income earned at a fast food restaurant while he was overseas risking his life.

It really is funny how efficient the govt is at coming after me and my nephew, how come illegal aliens are not being pursued as aggressively ?

  • It's easy to harass Americans because we respect the law and have a paper trail.

I remember I was 19yo in the US Navy deployed in the Mediterranean.  By some mistake the Selective Service sent me a threatening letter telling me to register.  I remember I had registered and registered to vote when I turned 18yo back in the USA.  At 18 1/2 I joined the Navy and at 19 the Selective Service came after me.  I told my chief and he said not to worry about it! lol

Farcical errors like these are common to all overgrown beaureacratic agencies.  The draft board came after my father for failure to show up for his army physical. He was at that time serving in the Navy. In early 2010,  I received by mail, a packet from the U.S. Army encouraging me to sign on.  I was in my early fifties and female.  The packet was addressed to "Mr. Frances XXX." Correct FEMALE name and address.....go figure!   I was half tempted to go to the local recruitment office and present myself as a joke.
On the other hand, I have the dubious privilege of having never once been counted as an adult in the U.S. Census.  Reason?  They have never sent me one!  They'll have a fifth opportunity in 2020 if I'm still alive.  Then again, my grandmother received both a census and a summons to jury duty in the year after her death at age 102!
Among local folks summoned to jury duty, my mother at age 91, a two month old baby, a male resident of a group home who was 50, but with a mental age of eight months, several pet dogs, cats, a Russian tortoise, all with human sounding names.  When threatened with arrest, fine, and imprisonment, an elderly woman obeyed the "Must Appear" summons by presenting her poodle, Amanda, to the Suffolk Co. courthouse.
A friend of mine received a ticket from NYC for illegally parking her car in mid-town Manhattan.  Very peculiar because she is a member of the Old Order Amish, married, with ten children, 14 grandchildren.  She has neither owned nor driven a motor vehicle, or ever been to NYC.  Her husband thought it was hilarious and showed it around to everyone at church.
There are also several cases of illegal aliens who served in Iraq or Afghanistan and are now fighting deportation.  The borders should be sealed and all the illegal males between 18 and 40 given a choice to enlist or leave!   It won't ever happen, of course!
In this world, we are to expect and endure injustices in hope of living forever without them in Heaven.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Reminds me of a news story from a couple years back.

This career army woman was serving in Iraq and her son was murdered by an illegal alien. She appealed to the govt and asked why this was being allowed to continue.

It was very remarkable, the mother was black.
