• Right now it's more symbolic and a form of protest by those who are fustrated with the election results and feel helpless about the country's present course for the future.

But this thing could gain steam.

Secession petitions filed in 20 states
    By Mike Krumboltz, Yahoo! News

In the wake of last week's presidential election, thousands of Americans have signed petitions seeking permission for their states to peacefully secede from the United States. The petitions were filed on We the People, a government website.

States with citizens filing include Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Oddly, folks from Georgia have filed twice. Even stranger, several of the petitions come from states that went for President Barack Obama.

The petitions are short and to the point. For example, a petition from the Volunteer State reads: "Peacefully grant the State of Tennessee to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government." Of all the petitions, Texas has the most signatures so far, with more than 23,000.

Of course, this is mostly a symbolic gesture. The odds of the American government granting any state permission to go its own way are on par with winning the lottery while getting hit by a meteor while seeing Bigfoot while finding gluten-free pizza that tastes like the real thing.

An article from WKRC quotes a University of Louisville political science professor who explained that these petitions aren't uncommon. Similar petitions were filed following the 2004 and 2008 elections. Still, should the petitions garner 25,000 signatures in a month, they will require an official response from the Obama administration.

From the We the People site:

The right to petition your government is guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We the People provides a new way to petition the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country. We created We the People because we want to hear from you. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it's sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.

Not everybody who wants to secede is polite enough to write a petition. Peter Morrison, treasurer of the Hardin County (Texas) Republican Party, wrote a post-election newsletter in which he urges the Lone Star State to leave the Union.

"We must contest every single inch of ground and delay the baby-murdering, tax-raising socialists at every opportunity. But in due time, the maggots will have eaten every morsel of flesh off of the rotting corpse of the Republic, and therein lies our opportunity... Why should Vermont and Texas live under the same government? Let each go her own way in peace, sign a free trade agreement among the states and we can avoid this gut-wrenching spectacle every four years."

  • Alaric,

Do you know why a petition garnering 25,000 signatures in a month would require a response from the Obama administration?

    Thanks.

  • I'd be surprised if Obama just let all those states seceed and free themselves from his dictatorship.

  • Yeah, and the Tea Party was interesting and so was the Reagan Revolution.

Both of which produced zip, zilch, nada.

And not for lack of effort, either.

    Explanation:

    1965 = Ted Kennedy = open immigration ( for 47 years, now ) = 2012 wipeout.

    Bottom line:

The "average American" is now substantially more multiculti, on or inclined to favor government handouts and, most important, does NOT want to give up his free goodies.  Pat Buchanan has been docuмenting this for many years.  We are through as a "people".  We exist as a cog in the multiculti machine run by NYC ( the UN ), Brussels ( the EU ) and a troika of anti-Catholic bigots and traitors in DC ( SCOTUS, POTUS and Congress ).

  • I hope they allow me to join forces with the middle states if this breaks out.

And the moral of the story is...women were put on this earth to support men...not to take power over them.

I just looked at TX which now has over 90,000 signatures. Apparently, you don't have to live in the state to sign the petition as there were several from various places around the US. So, I guess you can sign a petition for every state which has one which I believe is up to 47 now.

  • This is such a timely and important topic for the future success of our Catholic religion on earth that one must weigh in.

Mr. alaric is on to something very big here.  REALLY big.  REALLY REALLY REALLY big.  Welcome to the upcoming second break-up of the U.S.S.R.!  Remember that you read it here first.

So since the geo-political tectonic plates are shifting under our feet and the world as we knew it is going the way of an extinct species ("Remember the Dodo"), how do we make this a Roman Catholic event?  How can the break-up of our existing world serve the interests of Christ the King?  Clearly this is not the time for little minds and lack of imagination.  We need to expand our little minds so that we can begin to see what is now hidden in plain sight right in front of our eyes.

Because when God moves, He moves BIG.  Really big.  We need to try to catch up with Him.

As usual what is happening here is more powerful and dramatic than we imagine.  This is not merely the beginning of the break-up of the anti-Christian United Snakes of America.  It is the beginning of the Restoration of Roman Christendom.  It is the beginning of the birth of the Fifth Roman Empire.

Because nature abhors a vacuum, and especially a geo-political vacuum.  In other words, what is happening isn't actually the re-enactment of the Old Confederacy and the long-awaited "Rising Again of the South."  (Although it is that too.)  But primarily and above all this is the beginning of the PARTITION of the godless U.S.A. among new and rising Catholic Powers.  It is the beginning of a long period in which we Roman Catholics are going to be kicking a very great deal of butt...

(Timid Catholic souls might now consider converting to Methodism, the Jehovah's Witnesses or other such boring phony heresies.  Because from here on out we Catholics are going to be playing in the Big Leagues.  As in:  BIG Leagues.  Now is the time either to join in or head for the exits.  Our Lord will be giving us much more excitement than we may be able to handle.)

Time for us to say good-bye to the good ol' U.S. of A.  Not even the Disunited Snakes are going to be surviving.  Like in ancient Carthaginian Spain, the ROMANS are coming in from the East.  Time for us to undo the Wars of American Independence.  A United European Confederacy of Imperial Roman Christendom is coming soon to a place very near to us.  Hence our actual situation is simplicity itself:  The vast herds of mixed-race folks who yearn for their comfy mixed-race mud pot are going to be discovering the joys of their own great and glorious mixed-race nation:  the Mexican Empire!  Mexico already is Roman Catholic multi-racialism achieved to perfection.  So no need to delay their Multi-Racial Dream for even another moment.  Imperial Mexico is already there and waiting for them.  What more  could they want?  (Of course, the Mexican Inquisition will be kept busy with all those in-coming Prots, but, after all, that's what pure multi-racialism is all about.  We get what we ask for.)

And as for the rest of us who are not so keen on becoming mud people:  We too must have a place to call home.  For us home is Europe, so now if we can not go to Europe, then Europe must come to us.  Again, simplicity itself.  In this simple way we Roman Catholic white folk will have the Army and Finance to take our own lands and live happily ever after.  When various obstacles and trouble-makers get in our way, we then do what we white European Roman Catholics always do best, and blast the bastards out of the water, so to speak.  Remember the Thirty Year's War.  Remember the Second World War.  We Roman Catholic white men can do this!  Locate obstacles and remove them from our path.  Simplicity itself.

Perhaps the hotter regions can go to the soon-to-be Mexican mud people and they can have the Southwest, Texas and much of the South.  Then the white remainder will join a Confederate Greater European Fifth Roman Empire and, as we say, "have a nice day."  And then those who refuse to "have a nice day" will simply have to get out of our way.  Because Catholic Rome is a great steam-roller and those who insist on standing in front of steam-rollers usually have a habit of soon resembling the pancake.  So if some insist on becoming pancakes, we shall oblige them.  Yet again, simplicity itself.  It is our time-honored Roman Way.

It is time for us to think big, not small.  The future does not belong to little Neo-Liberal Republics fighting to preserve as much of the Old Marxist Chaos as possible.  Instead it belongs to large Imperial Confederations of global reach and power.  The Muslims want and shall have their Imperial Caliphate and the Chinese likewise.  The mud folk will have their Greater Mexico and, no doubt, the Negroes will think of something Pan-African.  So what are we going to do?  We are going to connect with our Roman roots and be ROMANS.  We are going to realize our ROMAN DREAM and send the Judaics packing.  They always yearn to be nomads in a Middle Eastern desert, so they too shall have their true heart's desire.  Simplicity itself.

We shall have the Kingdom of Christ for His own white People of Christ and all shall be well.  At long last the long-prophesied Golden Age of Roman justice on earth.  And all shall be well.

  • The break-up of the Freemasons' controlled United States into independant countries might be God's blessing, if it happens soon enought.

  • Anyone who thinks that Judaic banksters will let anyone peacefully secede from their usury, is delusional.

  • Now we're gonna have to learn the Texas Ten-Step and sing "Yellow Rose."

Looks like the South is still the stronghold it was 150 years ago.

    What about Boston, Kentucky 10407?

Oaklahoma had the highest Romney vote count halfway through the evening.

This is going to be the story to watch, that's for sure!
