  • I a m not sure how many folks here remember me.  I was an active poster  in the past.  I am trying to search for a thread in the Anonymous Sub form called "Questions for Sigismund".  There was a discussion in that thread about books that I wiould like to look at again.  I am sure I am simply not using the search function properly.  I looked through the entire sub forum and found a thread where I was asked questions about foster care but not the one I am looking for.  I am grateful for any help anyone can offer.

For those who do remember me, I am now a Byzantine rite deacon.  My son the Byzantine rite priest has taken monastic vows although he is still a parish priest. My kids and grandkids are mostly fine.

    Blessings to all,

    Sigismund (Father Deacon Michael)

  • I can't even remember what it was I was searching for, but I have had the same thing happen when I went searching for old info - but only sometimes. I am pretty sure that some old threads and/or posts are lost forever, I think this happened due to the transition to the updated forums.

  • I don't think one can find anonymous threads.  I know that when I post anonymously, they don't show in my own profile.

  • The only threads that are deleted are ANONYMOUS posts from banned members. You can guess why I do this.

    1. They are banned. Probably for a reason.
    2. The worst of a banned members posts will be the ones they posted anonymously.
    3. Some banned users come back again, and again, and again... I want to discourage this by deleting all their "work".

So I have a script which goes through and deletes all the anon. posts. As well as any up/down votes they ever gave.

Moral of the story: I don't want banned members contributing in a subtle way to the "anonymous zeitgeist" of CathInfo (what is good/bad, what is popular, ways of thinking, etc.)
I don't delete ALL a banned member's posts, because the ones they signed their name to can be judged like any other post.
