that was a fascinating article - provocative, especially with respect to the use Extreme Unction and organ donors. Since I am a convert (eight years, but there are still things that I come up against that I do not know) I was recently asking my husband about why specific organs one is not allowed to donate (one can donat a kidney but not a liver or a heart - all I knew was that being an organ donor was bad) and he told me that even though a doctor will say someone is dead, the clinical definition of death does not necessarily coincide with the true moment of death. Hence, the Church holds that one can be given last rites a half hour (i think) after death, and that being an organ donor is not a Catholic thing to do. Wouldn't it be great if science backs up what the Church has always held? Like I said, provocative, I'll have to email it to my friends.
