You are really going to love it, although just a novel, I wanted my grandchildren to take notice that the movie was made way back in the early 50's everything Catholic was as if they were in school at Mount St. Michael, of which they are.  This way they won't feel as if the practices are only for them, and that is/was the way Catholics were always.
    Please pray for my soul.

  • What a great old movie! As we watched I thought about how great it was that it showed Catholic life as nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks again.

  • What about Saints and Sinners, I recall you recommended it some time back, and I bought a few for friends at the time... :)

Your right but I can't find that on Youtube, I also bought a copy of Saints and Sinners and gave it to my priest, strictly for entertainment.
But I found this gem just now
    Please pray for my soul.

Thanks, Myrna!  I saw it many years ago, but had forgotten a lot of it.

Thanks to everyone, keep them coming.  Today is a day of rest, what better than to rest with a good and wholesome movie, together with family if you are so blessed.
    Please pray for my soul.

  • Thanks for this thread Myrna.  I've been in bed with flu for a few days and "Sally and St. Anne" was a pleasant way to pass the time.

I also looked for other movies and found one called "Three Godfathers". It's about 3 bank robbers running from a posse who end up in charge of a newborn. It's been remade a few times.  I watched the 1948 version with John Wayne. It's a western but it has a lot of Christian imagery and themes.  It has scenes that made me laugh and scenes that made me cry.  It works as a Christmas movie, if one wants a change of pace (and don't want to go full "Die Hard".)

I couldn't find it on Youtube (there used to be some but they were removed), but found a site that was carrying it with a lot of annoying ads.  It would be better without those.
