  • I know he is for getting rid of IRS, too.  Can anyone come up with more of his stands?

  • For all his good points, he is still a believer in the "cult of liberty".

Even so, his (highly unlikely) election would be a notable improvement.

  • Veritatis, old friend, it is up to us to make it likely.  Have you heard what the English are doing now that Blair has resigned?

  • I did not know Blair had resigned.  To what are you referring?

Btw, I am not trying to rain on your 'Paul for President' parade, and if he gets on an actual ballot, I will vote for him.

  • Vote for him even if he doesn't have a ballot.  Write him in.  Unless you can in all good conscience vote in one of the puppets.

The British are setting up campaign stalls throughout England, forcing the issue of getting out of the war.  I'm not sure if they mean to sway the future PM, or choose the future PM from the reaction to their campaign.  I don't see why we can't set up campaign stalls throughout America and finally give the people someone to vote for.  Paul did get 69% of the vote on that debate, so it seems pretty wimpy to just say, "Oh, well, he doesn't have a ballot."

The only thing I know about the debate is that it occurred - although I not when/where/with whom, etc.

I guess I am an uninformed blockhead and a wimp.

I love you, my good lady, and pray you have a most wonderful Mama's Day!

  • You're one of a kind, Veritatis, and that is too bad.  Here is something to read.

Good for you, Campy.  Would you consider getting the word out about him?

Perhaps I am just uninformed (so don't yell at me!), but I don't get the impression that Ron Paul is the ideal that candidate that everyone is making him out to be (thank you very much, gladius).  Quite often, he seems to have opinions (whatever those are worth!) compatible with ours, but I also get the impression that he wants to follow the Constitution and not necessarily his personal beliefs.  Does anyone else get this feeling?

  • Politicians are usually legalists, Pinoy.  One thing a lot of people get confused on is the difference between the law and "right".  We all have a bit of Pollyanna in us, I guess.  I have no idea what difference there might be between Paul's beliefs and the constitution.  Perhaps you could enlighten me there.  But I do know that the constitution is the nailed down basis of our country, while Ron Paul's beliefs are his alone.  The problems we are encountering now stem from the beliefs of a few usurping the constitution, and the songs and dances they've been doing to overcome it.  Personally I would rather we stuck to one thing, like the constitution, rather than be at the unmerciful mercy of all these self centered belief systems.  But above all, a good man is law abiding and the constitution is the law.

I think your concern about Ron Paul is probably the greatest endorsement for him.

I think Gladius makes a good point.  I'll vote for him as well, but we all no doubt realize that even the best Catholic candidate as president is working with a system based on similar principles of the French Revolution. Some have even made the argument that the American Revolution was a test run for the French Revolution. A republic could be run as a Catholic country I believe, but I think we would have to tweak some things in the constitution to do so. The first thing that comes to mind is religious liberty.

  • As far as his stance on abortion.  He is pro-life.  Before he became a politician, he was an ob/gyn who helped bring many babies into the world.

  • Thanks, Miss Fluffy.  As far as voting for him, I don't think that will happen unless people get out and campaign for him in order to by pass the media black out on him.  We have had other good, or at least better than the big party nominees, who didn't even get into the running because of media black out.  Which makes the media pretty well all powerful.
