I was hinting that reflection on her death should center around her life and whether or not it was one well-lived. Any death should be a chance for us to reflect on our own mortality and I'm certainly not thinking today that I wished I had a better voice. Moreso, I'm thankful that God saw fit to save me from a life of celebrity.
While it's always good to acknowledge that we never know whose life has merited heaven and whose has not, it's also good to recognize that hers likely did not.
And so, rather than say RIP which is common for deaths among the faithful, it is perhaps better to say, "May God have mercy on her soul."
