Will reading books by Rhonda Byrne, or merely possess them, be an invitation to demonic activity in one's person?

I noticed an individual who read a book by this writer and her behaviour changed for the worse, almost immediately after reading it. She declines to go to confession saying that she goes when she feels like and that's her personal matter with God.

Any dabbling in magic, occult, new age, etc. is an open invitation for demonic influence.

Either occult influence or just poisonous / pernicious ideas in the book. Hard to say. People underestimate the power of bad ideas.

Seems sort of New Age / New Thought

On this website it states that:

I find your observations interesting, because about 10 years ago I noticed that the parents of kids who read the Harry Potter books had behavioral changes.

I had never in my life seen such consistent rancor and malice, simply for saying we don't allow these books. (when asked) It was like a switch flipped. Luckily, I missed the Byrne weirdness.

Seems as if some books carry curses or demons with them. St. Don Bosco warned against bad books sending kids to Hell (along with bad companions and bad habits)
