Author Topic: RESULT OF BULLY-HOOD - PLASTIC SURGERY ON A 7 YEAR OLD?? (Read 1964 times)

I am so deeply saddened and literally sick to my stomach. Bullying in schools and in life, as adults, needs to stop!

How many of you feel plastic surgery is the answer?

The Mother of this adorable little girl with freckled face and cute cup/lop ears, is being interviewed, with a statue of an Angel holding a baby, in the background. What is her number? I want to speak with her, right now.

The Mother is lost and insecure and is passing her insecurity onto her innocent child. How will the child learn to stand up for herself?

God created us as we are for a reason. Imperfections and all. He loves us just the way we are. Having unique characteristics is what builds our individuality.

What lesson will this give the little girl in the future? What if she starts to become ridiculed for the color of her eyes, will she start wearing colored contacts? What about the color of her hair? Will she start dying the color? How about her freckles, will she have laser surgery and have them removed? How about her lips? Her nose, etc..

How is this Mother helping her? If it was a defect where the little girl was unable to hear out of her ears, that would be one thing, but getting plastic surgery so the child will stop being Bullied???..

Let me ask you, how many of you out there were a victim of Bully's? How many of you WERE the Bully's?

As a victim, how did you overcome the abuse?

As a Bully, how did you feel when you hurt the other child? Did you feel guilt? Did you feel remorse?

Please discuss.. and while we are at it, help me understand why, even as Catholic Adults, people feel it necessary to Bully? Are they getting back at the childhood victim-dom of being Bullied, being the victim?

Please help me understand.

Forgive me, but I think this whole "bully" frenzy is a make up of the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ agenda. If you notice, apart from this story perhaps, everytime the "bully" story of the day comes out, it either is focused on, or includes in some way, a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ kid being bullied. Thats my 2¢

How did you get "ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ agenda" from the footage? The little girl is only 7 and her Mother, God please bless her, is clearly a victim herself, of being Bullied.
Perhaps I am missing something, here. Please elaborate s2srea

Well, s2srea is right. Alot of times they try to fit in the gαy agenda when they talk about ending bullying. That's not always the case, but it often is. Anyway, either way I think bullying is wrong.

Parents need to teach their children that God will always give them the graces that they need to carry whatever cross is handed to them. Parents should also teach their children to find something positive about every cross. Sometimes the only positives that you may find about a cross is that you can earn graces, comfort Our Lord and save souls by offering it to Him, but those are huge in the scope of life, aren't they?

As for bullies, if your kids are in danger, you need to step in and keep them safe. If they are not in danger, teach them to do as Our Lord would: Turn the other cheek, treat others with kindness. I have helped my kids over the years with a few good comebacks, but usually I'd tell them to just avoid the person taunting them, or do their best to treat the kid with kindness.

After my post about turning the other cheek, I have to tell a story that came to mind. It's NOT about turning the other cheek.

Once we got a call from the principal: Junior was in her office for slugging a kid and Junior (not his real name) said Dad told him he could and even gave him a bit of coaching. After the principal heard the whole story from us (the bullying had gone on for months) the principal said, "Well, you can't tell your son to hit anyone, so he'll be suspended for the rest of the day, but normally the suspension would have been 3 days". I don't remember the punishment that the bully got. That was quite a few years ago. I DON'T recommend that you try that method nowadays.

Well if that's a parent's response to a child who is being treated mercilessly in a school then they will be lucky to keep the Faith.

It's one thing to accept crosses, it's another thing for self-satisfied people to hand them out.

As I always say, there's a fine line between humility and masochism.

If you are a nun and your Mother Superior is mistreating you, that would be a time to earn graces by being obedient anyway.

If you are here in the outside world and being maligned and slandered and abused, it is not "humility" to not defend yourself. Jesus only stopped defending Himself and the truth -- which amounts to the same thing -- when He saw that it wouldn't do any good and He'd be wasting His breath.

People have become far too passive in the face of bullies, bullies like the JєωS. What we forget is they are only two percent of the population. It is only fear, as well as love of money, that makes us all turn on each other and do their work for them. They use their intellectual manipulative prowess to divide and conquer, like their master the devil.

As for the little girl, she's not Catholic as far as I can tell and doesn't know anything about taking up a Cross.

I grew up a nonbeliever who was unpopular and bullied, and let me tell you, it was not "taking up my Cross" but dumb, pointless suffering that I went through. Unfortunately due to the attack on the Church, and perhaps due to the sins of the fathers, miserable, cruel lives for children and adults are commonplace. Society is like a bunch of jackals tearing each other apart.

But I'm not sure any of that applies in this case. What exactly is the tragedy here? If a kid has bad teeth, aren't they often fixed? Where are the sob stories about that? Where is the beautiful Asian reporter to make Kabuki faces of sadness for the cameras every time a kid gets braces?

The girl had a funny-looking ear that was borderline deformed. It's not like she just had a bump on her nose or something. This wasn't a cosmetic procedure but one to fix a deformity!

Tele, WOW! I read that blog and that is intense. Particularly coming from Italy, the country which holds the vatican (things that make you go, "hmm" :scratchchin:). So here is my thought. Propaganda! That blog must be banned (but thank you for sharing it with me, for it is important for me to read/know what is being written out there, particularly in Italy). It shows that the writer says, "oh well, society is going to hell in a handbasket, what to do, what to do.. ho hum.." I say, No! One must take action! Where is his redeeming value of the story? Why write a story like this? Is it soley just for shock value? I want a solution. I am left with nothing other than feeling worse.

Extreme Bullies are like Natural Born Sociopaths. They have no remorse, they are numb and feel a sense of entitlement. Psychiatrists say that Sociopaths have a chemical imbalance and cannot help themself but I strongly disagree! I personally think it impossible that a child have these traits if they are raised with strong Catholic faith. How can we, as Catholics, make a change and convert them?

Perhaps a good start would be to encourage the Mother to be proactive in the Childs school, through PTA or other organizations or volunteer at the school and get to know the Teachers and the Bullies Parents and start a program against Bully treatment/acts in schools and start positive enrichment activities which help children to cope with one another.

The Mother allowing the Daughter to have this plastic surgery is only placing a band aid on the problem. This does not solve anything, only gives the Daughter a reason to believe SHE is the cause and reason of the mistreatment. This will only give the little girl a BIG complex in the adult world. The Mother is only enabling the treatment of her daughter rather than nipping the issue and behavior in the bud.
That is only my opinion.

The teeth and jaw are things we have to live with for the rest of our lives and they need to stay healthy for we must use our mouth daily, to eat, to function. The shape of ears are not needed for daily function. They can be hidden with hair if one feels uncomfortable about the appearance, but going extreme and having plastic surgery AT AGE SEVEN, is ludicrous. The surgery was performed in vain, and that, is a sin! As I mentioned before, if the little girl was unable to hear correctly, due to the shape of her ears, that would be one thing, but we are talking about being pushed to go under the knife because someone is being teased.

Uh, I thought you said it was a "borderline" deformity, there by it would be considered cosmetic surgery. She did not have to go under the knife. It is vanity (sin). People live with deformities every day. God gave her those ears, for a reason! Her ears are not bothering people.. It is not like she has a HUGE hairy mole on her upper lip, that would be distracting for people as they cast a conversation with her...
