Title: Requesting Prayer
Post by: Frances on October 17, 2013, 10:50:23 AM
:barf:Please pray for me.  I'm sick with URI, maybe bronchitis.  Thanks to ObamaCare, no more doctor, no raise to be able to afford one.  Off work and no pay for three days now.
Thanks in advance.

Have you looked online for some natural remedies?  The Mommypotamus site has some good ideas.

One thing I do know is not to drink cranberry "juice" from the store, it is loaded w/sugar which will make matters worse.

Hope it clears up soon, I've had them and they are miserable.

I think you may be registering "URI" as a urinary tract infection; hence your mention of cranberry juice. A URI, however, is an upper respiratory infection; i.e., a cold, tonsillitis, laryngitis, sinusitis—all those great old favorites. Being myself a full-bore alternative-medicine type, I can assure you that the only good cranberry supplements can do for such an infection is to spur fluid elimination. Of course, that's always a good thing when one is ill.

Bronchitis, like pneumonia and tracheitis, is actually a lower respiratory infection—but it's still a long way from urinary infection territory, so there's no point in quibbling, especially with someone, like our Frances, who is likely to be coughing, experiencing chest pain and congestion, and feeling generally rotten.

All together now: Please bless us and give us your guidance, O Obamanable one!

Dr. Claudel has the right diagnosis.  URI= Upper Respiratory Infection.  I am drinking full strength pomegranate juice, the real thing, very sour!  Also getting ingredients for my Irish grandma's remedy.  It's a better expectorant than anything OTC from the drug store.  If it works, I'll ask Fr. Pfeiffer if it can be sold as the official Resistance anti-Obama, anti-modernist remedy.  Made with Kentucky whiskey, it could fund the US seminary.  But I still feel lousy, so keep praying.  Thanks.

The remedy calls for Irish Whiskey, preferably Jamison's, but I'd make a sacrifice for the sake of the Faith.  I've thought that OL Mt. Carmel priory and seminary could produce their own, since they are in the heart of whiskey country.  It would give yet another meaning to "spiritual" priests.

Do you have a humidifier going, Frances? That sounds so nasty and cannot be comfortable. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Dr. Claudel has the right diagnosis.

I was a medic in the army back before you were born (I think). But some things one doesn't forget—like the relative locations of the lungs and the urinary tract.

I've met people who won't drink Jameson's because the distiller's family is Protestant. That's a bit, uh, preconciliar, don't you think? I, on the other hand, being a broad-minded sort of swine when it comes to the water of life, won't drink it simply because it's blended.

Bushmill's, a fine old Catholic firm, makes a great single malt. So that is the way to go for the good Catholic toper with a refined palate—unless you can afford to pay more than fifty bucks a bottle to get one of the premium, limited-production boutique brands.

That's an Irish remedy.  Translation:  "Use Excellent Whiskey."
In Kentucky, that means Wild Turkey 101, and up.
(Not necessarily in 'proof' but in quality!)

You can take the Whiskey out of Kentucky;

But you can't take the Kentucky out of Whiskey.

That ought to be carved in stone somewhere.

Yes, it's my Grandma's remedy.  The carving should be placed on a rock at the head of the driveway to OL Mt. Carmel in Kentucky.
The remedy just might be working.  I AM coughing up the "gunk." Sorry, that's a bit crude.  Don't know how else to put it.  I'm a bit better today.  Keep praying.
My employer is meeting to solve this problem of two uninsured employees.  I think they realise they will lose us if something isn't done.  One goes to a NYC public hospital ER only as a last resort, ie. brought in on a stretcher!  Right now, that's where I'd have to go to see a doctor, after waiting a day and a half.  Better to rest in bed, sleep and swig Kentucky whiskey!

I doubt it's any comfort, but I'm in a somewhat similar position (I'm not sure how long my insurance will be active as I had to leave my job at a very bad school for at-risk youth). I've been feeling pretty ill for a week and it's getting worse...

Will pray for you. Please consider the miraculous medal and the miraculous medal novena.

I'll pray for you, too!  The purpose of ObaminationCare is to eliminate the working class so that the wealthy do as please with the entire underclass serving them as useful, idiots, slaves dependent upon government handouts.  IOW, Communism!

Keep some Colloidal Silver on hand, 1/2 to 1 tsp 4-5 times a day for 10-21 days.  Should work for URI, UTI, and UXYZs too

 :surprised:

Frances, might you not need some antibiotics if it's bronchitis?

Our deductible went up so outrageously that we're paying more for what is now basically catastrophic insurance (cancer, operations), but it still covers our prescriptions. Maybe if we knew you needed a certain antibiotic...? (Is that wrong?)

Off to look up what Colloidal Silver is!

Colloidal silver is good.... just don't take too much of it because your skin might turn blue such as this guy (http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/2013/09/25/papa-smurf-paul-karason-colored-blue-colloidal-silver-walks-151447).
