  • I like the older one. It was the most realistic. I remember it came
out in the theaters after the conclusion of the 1984 Los Angeles
    Olympics.

  • The old one.

As for the new one, it was completely divorced from any point the original made.

    It was just shooting/entertainment.

  • The new one seems to be "Abercrombie and Fitch meets survival in the field". It looks quite lame, but it could be a preconditioning or forewarning by Hollyweird for what is to come... since there seems to be a correlation between what the Jєωs produce for "entertainment" and the same thing, or something similar, happening afterwords. Just look at the pre 9/11, Aurora theater, Sandy Hook, Boston Marathon bombing, etc., subliminal imagery in shows before the events occurred.

  • The remake was originally supposed to have the Chicoms (i.e. the Chinese Communist Party and their forces, as opposed to the ordinary Chinese) as the villains, but from what I understand, the company producing the movie changed the villains to North Koreans in order to protect their sales in China.

As to whether the (original) story would ever actually play out in reality, I am not sure. The Japanese before WWII (who were in a somewhat similar position to the Chicoms of today) never seemed to have seriously entertained the idea, and I really doubt that the Chicoms would ever be willing to waste so many men and resources on anything like a direct invasion and occupation of the US. Then again, anything is possible.

  • If the remake mirrors modern day reality, the Russians are the good guys this time. We seem to be begging to invade Russia by being right in their doorstep in Afghanistan and pushing hard to go into Syria.

They need to change the title to Red, White and Blue Dawn.

Who would waste their time with this trash?

    But trivia is fun..........

The invading army in the original 1984 movie was the Soviet Union, which no longer exists, and Cuba. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) was chosen as the enemy in this updated version.

    Shot and completed in 2009.

The invading army was originally Chinese but changed to North Koreans to maintain access for international release.

Originally scheduled to be released on November 24, 2010, the film was shelved due to MGM's financial troubles. While in post-production, the invading army was changed from Chinese to North Korean in order to maintain access to China's box office.

No wonder Kim Jong Ill was ticked off.  Remember the nuclear warheads
and the ICBM skirmish? ...........WHAT?! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ACCESS
    TO OUR BOX OFFICE????????????

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
