A good chunk of the books have not only been re-printed with the new (fixed) binding technique, but they often have new, updated covers as well!
Not to be argumentative, but even the newly printed stuff is just not as good as is could easily be - and the price is still, imo, too high for the quality of the product.
Why did they not simply SEW the pages together? Ignatius, PCP, etc, use the SEWN bindings for soft cover - and it works quite well.
The newer stuff is certainly better - it is also certainly not as good as is could and should be (IMO).
