Matthew: suggestion to have quote button only quote the most recent post and not all of them. CAF does this and it is great. Prevents you from having to block quote the entire convo or else go back and edit the irrelevant parts out. Saves space and time.

Not a bad idea -- it shouldn't be too hard. I just have to wait until the next "CathInfo programming" session.

Thanks!

I was hoping this was a thread for memorable quotes.
:-))
Here is one from Joan D' Arcy:
"I am not afraid, I was born to do this."

No butting in line ahead of my "reset new posts" button.

You post at CAF???

Jehanne, stevus has posted at CAF for some time now. I don't know if he has recently, though. He only does it to debate with the neo-Caths. I used to post at CAF but wad banned for cutting down Vatican II.
Anyway, that quote feature that stevus recommended sounds good. Something else I think would be cool is if we could "pin" some of out favorite threads and posts. I mean, suppose there's a post or thread that you really like. Instead of having to go back and find it, it would be nice if you could sort of "pin" it for future reference.

I post once a month in between "suspensions". :laugh1:
Yes I post there. It is a good place to find Neo-Caths to debate. The problem is that the Moderator is an idiot and knee-jerk bans Trads if they come off as "pitting the Masses against each other" or whatever other non sense. They banned Tele for quoting a pope!
So the moderator kills all fruitful discussion. I wish the Neo-Caths from there would post in our crisis section to get some good debate going, but the Sedes immediately drive away all curious Neo-Caths. Whether it be their extreme "theses", demeaning the Pope, or else insanely posting a list of Jews like Raoul making them run screaming that we are all αnтι-ѕємιтєs. Thus us few non-Sedes are reduced to talking into the void or else debating kook nutter theories all day.
I still suggest a separate sub forum safe for curious Neo-Caths to debate Rome v. SSPX views with no fear of Sede-ism being discussed.
I think CI will see a big influx and do a lot of good getting the message out.

stevus, it's not the sedes driving the neo-Caths away. This is a Traditional Catholic forum. I've seen one or two neo-Caths sign up here since I joined and they got driven away from discussion of Tradition in general. Sedevacantism was not even brought up. Matthew does not allow modernists to post here, and I'm glad he doesn't. Debating with neo-Caths would do no good for this forum. It's very difficult to convert them.

You should start PMing them in mass to see if they want to come here, at least before you are banned permanently.

Again I say it shouldn't happen. This is a Traditional Catholic forum, and contrary to what stevus said the reason there are currently no neo-Caths here has nothing to do with sedevacantism. It's Traditional Catholicism in general that keeps them from signing up. And the few neo-Caths that do sign up either get banned or just driven away. I would leave CatholicInfo if neo-Caths were ever allowed to post, but Matthew doesn't allow it anyway. And I am glad he doesn't.

Matthew doesn't allow Neo-Caths to post here?
SS, think about it. Arguing with a Sede is pointless because he is working off a false premise. All you will ever be arguing is about this false premise.
Neo-Caths and SSPX can substantively debate because they share the fundamental premise BXVI is Pope and then can debate what flows from that.
That is why to get good debate going and reach souls we need Neo-Caths and FSSP'ers, etc.
Sedes necessarily turn all debate to their false premise and everyone else leaves.

I have seen about two neo-Caths sign up since I joined. Neither of them left because of sedevacantism, nor was sedevacantism even discussed with them. As far as why I don't want them here, they are arrogant snobs who hate Tradition.
Stevus, arguing with neo-Caths eventually becomes pointless. As Pius X said, "It is extremely rare to convert a modernist". To the modernists, 2+2 can mean not only 4, but 10, 100, even 1000. To them, the possibilities are endless, and the rules are meaningless. That's why you are wasting your time arguing with them at CAF. They have a spiritual veil over their head that only God can lift. You might get better results debating with them on a forum that isn't modernist since they'd be outnumbered, but Matthew doesn't allow them here, nor does anyone else want them here anyway. I would leave CatholicInfo if they were allowed on here, and I'm sure many others would also leave. I wouldn't mind FSSP Trads joining, though. As long as they weren't anti-SSPX.

So you presume to know why people left this site? Also, your malevolence is anti-Catholic. Before you get your panties all ruffled- I say that because that is no way to progress the Trad movement with that sort of loveless attitude. You either don't care and are anti-Christian or you are uncharitable and should really reconsider how you approach those outside tradition who may be ignorant of the facts.

I'm not here to say that neo-Caths should or shouldn't be here, but Stevus is pretty hard core to keep debating with the sede's here and I give him a thousand more times credit for trying to and being able to debate 'Modernists' than having the knowledge to be able to do that and keep it to myself. I may not agree with everything he says, but he makes good arguments on many points, only to be discredited by a few who don't seem to be able to think deeply about issues. I don't think neo-Caths are the "Modernists" pSPX was talking about. Most of them are ignorant compared to those many of the philosophically trained ones who brought about the ruin of our Church.
-
An absurd accusation, s2srea. I'm not anti-Christian, and I don't hate neo-Caths. I just don't want them to post here. Simple as that. I am entitled to my opinion. And I do know that sedevacantism had nothing to do with why they left. I saw the discussions they were involved in, and sedevacantism was not even mentioned.

Give it up, Stevus! Another Jackass statement, as GV would say!
We have been debating on this site for a long time about this issue.
You are another "energizer bunny ". All you can harp on is sedevacantism............on as many threads as you can. Shucks, you even may start up new threads on the subject if the old ones die out!
I can assure you that Im just as much a Catholic as you are.........and a sede as well! :pop:
