  • It's terrible. I saw the labeling on very early at daycare/preschool age.

  • There is so much abuse that goes on in public schools too. It's a dangerous place for children apart from education issues.

Physical, emotional/verbal, sɛҳuąƖ abuse  and violent crimes by students and staff.

Not to mention the indoctrination that goes on.  They are now propaganda schools, not public schools.  I have forgotten which state it is that is actively indoctrinating kindergarteners into the acceptability of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity but I do remember hearing about it.

I think schools are also undermining the responsibility and authority of parents by dictating everything from vaccines to lunch menus; creating defacto wards of the state.  Of course if parents wouldn't accept being dictated to it wouldn't have happened.

It is lamentable that we have gone from a nation of self reliant people to a nation of government dependent sheeple.

  • Public schools are not allowed to discipline.  The Bully bill, is for the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ kids and was not a state bill passed for the regular kids. No discipline!  And for those students who excel are used as mentors to slow them down.  The dumbing down scheme.  The states have the labeling of children.  All labeled kids make more money out of our pockets.  There are labels for students who deserve no label, like a wanna be gang person.  They make things up as they go. For more information Randy Engel wrote some books on this issue. If you think you can not home school you can, because the programs are all set up in place for you.  Try Seton for an example. Depending on the age of your child and part time work, it can be done.  When your child can read on a 4th grade level, they can read  what their next assignment is and do it.   And every state is different, but there are parents who tell no one and just do it.  And be ready with a lawyer just in case. The United States still recognize the parent as "the" teacher.

  • There's discipline.  There are public schools with police walking the halls.

But it's used to enforce political correctness.

Anti-bullying isn't going to stop abuse of Christian children.

  • Your labelling is a sad event, and it hurts my heart to hear stories like that. Lowered expectations make for lower performance, but it takes a good teacher to make the material work for each child. Many are slothful.   I was in education (CAtholic and Public) for many years, and saw the decline of the education system as years passed--why?  When the Federal Government became involved, then labels had to be used for funding and testing...

No Child Left Behind assumes all children are equally capable and equally motivated, and that not true.  I worked in low-income areas. Many of these parents received all of their childrens meals, clothes, and daycare from the school systems.  The parents don't parent.  One of our tests was to hand a preschooler a book to see if they knew how to hold it and turn pages.  So many had never seen a book.  Several didn't know their name.  Parents relegate all of their responsibilities to the government and then the kids are like animals.

I see some homeschoolers who do a great job, and sadly, a small percentage who do not. Most fall down in math and science.    Or inject the child back into public school in high school, which is a culture shock.
I am not alone, for the father is with me.

This is simply folly that occurs all too often.

I really feel the pain of the children who have this happen to them.

  • Make no mistake, the "children" who go to the public schools are part of the problem, the teachers and staff the other half.
