  • Prophecy of St. Nicholas of Fluh (1417-1487):

“The Church will be punished because the majority of her members, high and low, will become so perverted.  The Church will sink deeper and deeper until she will at last seem to be extinguished, and the succession of Peter and the other Apostles to have expired. But, after this, she will be victoriously exalted in the sight of all doubters.”

  • The church was so big that corruption had to sink into it eventually and then work its way into its system until it seemed to cause the death of the church.
But the church remained in a minority, uncorrupted, faithful, pure, and the minority will throw off the discarded rigour mortis of the corruption and will build on a foundation of purity, this time with experience of downfall fresh in its mind, this time, unstoppable. This is not the end of the world, this is the phase before the return to tradition.

  • Who's thumbing this down and why?  St. Nicholas never said that the Church would be extinguished, just that it would almost appear that way.

  • Yes, I'd also like to know who's been giving the prophecy thumbs down.

The Angelic Pope will be the one to "victoriously exalt" the Church "in the sight of all doubters". This will occur by or before 2038 AD.

But, after this, she will be victoriously exalted in the sight of all doubters.”

"Before the triumph of the Church comes, God will first take vengeance on the wicked, especially against the Godless. It will be a new judgement, the like has never been before, and it will be universal...then comes the triumph of the holy Church and the reign of brotherly love." (Father Bernard Maria Clausi, 19th century).

"There shall be a three days of darkness...There is to be a short but furious war, during which the enemies of religion and of mankind shall be universally destroyed...A general pacification of the world, and the universal triumph of the Church are to follow" (Sister Palma Maria Addolorata Matarelli d'Oria, 19th century)

"Since the whole world is against God and His Church, it is evident that He has reserved the victory over His enemies to Himself. This will be more obvious when it is considered that the root of all our present evils is to be found in the fact that those with talents and vigor crave earthly pleasures, and not only desert God but repudiate Him altogether. Thus it appears they cannot be brought back in any other way except through an act that cannot be ascribed to any secondary agency, and thus all will be forced to look to the supernatural... There will come a great wonder, which will fill the world with astonishment. This wonder will be preceded by the triumph of revolution. The church will suffer exceedingly. Her servants and her chieftain will be mocked, scourged, and martyred." Pope Pius IX (1878)

"All states will be shaken by war and civil conflict. During a darkness lasting three days the people given to evil ways wil perish so that only one-fourth of makind will survive. The clergy, too, will be greatly reduced in number, as most of them will die in defense of the faith or of their country" (Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified of Pau, 19th century).

"God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed wax candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy." (Blessed Anna Maria Taigi of Rome, 19th century)

  • Then Anna Maria and I get thumbed down just for asking who's thumbing it down (presumably by the same two).  I think that the "thumbing" should be made public.

If I had to guess, I would say it's some radical schismatic sedeplenist.

  • Pray and wait. With the state of things, it shouldn't be too far off now.

" Be not therefore solicitous for to morrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof."

No kidding!  What's with all these thumbs downs?  I've been getting thumbed down all month!

Matthew, I think the program is broken and needs some repairs.   :smash-pc:

  • I can see a thumb down for a personal opinion, but on a quote from a saint?  Clearly some personal animosity going on here.

You're welcome. It's very interesting. I believe we are seeing now what's been prophesied. We're living in the last days.

Some argue the tribulation began in 1948 when Israel was given back to the Jєωs. The Jєωs are now capable of rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem which is what will happen when the Antichrist comes. This assessment could be true since we have strong candidates with the Pahlavi Dynasty (last 3 iranian/persian kings) to fulfill Daniel 11:2. The first of these kings, Reza Pahlavi I, began his reign in 1925. The third king is Reza Pahlavi II. He lives in the United States and is still considered king by 5% of the Iranian/Persian population. Iran abolished its monarchy in 1979 during the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (son of Reza Pahlavi I). If these 3 kings are the ones who fulfill Daniel 11:2 then, technically speaking, the tribulation (end times) began in 1925 when Reza Pahlavi I became king. But then again, the 3 persian kings and the 4th king of Daniel 11:2 are not mentioned in any kind of way in the book of Revelation. The prophecies indicate that the end times do not begin until the reign of the Great Monarch who is also prophesied in Daniel 11:3-4. The book of revelations does not call him that. Rather he is referred to as the First Horseman or associated with he First Horseman in some kind of way (Revelation 6:2). We know that Daniel 11:3 was fulfilled by Alexander the Great and not only does the entire verse foreshadow the Great Monarch, but his name! Alexander the Great <--------> the Great Monarch.

There are also other indicators that we could be in the end times. There is Father Sudac of Croatia who bears the Stigmata on his forehead. There are prophecies that say that the Pope during the reign of the Great Monarch will "carry the sign of redemption on his forehead". This is also mentioned, to some degree, in Revelation 7:3...

“Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” “–Revelation 7:3

Kinda destroys the green agenda aye? Anyways, given that Father Sudac is legit, we can say that at least a couple of things that have been prophesied in the book of revelation are happening right now. But then again, Father Sudac hasn't been made Pope yet, and the Great Monarch has not risen to power.

If anything, we are in the transition period between the 5th period of time and the end times. There is strong evidence that the end times will last 490 years (based on Christ's message that we should forgive people 70 X 7 times). Not to mention, Daniel 7 foreshadow's the end times, and there are 4 different world powers that will have to take place during the end times. These superpowers will be...

    1) Europe (Kingdom of the Great Monarch)
    2) Russia (the bear in Daniel 7)
    3) East Asia/India/Africa/Middle East (the leopard in Daniel 7)
    4) One World Government (Daniel 7)

It will definitely take a few hundred years for all of these to have their day in the sun.

Note: Reza Pahlavi II will be the last Persian/Iranian king since he has no male heirs to succeed him. So if Daniel 11:2 will be fulfilled by actual kings, then these 3 kings must be the Pahlavi Dynasty. Otherwise, it would have to be fulfilled by presidents or Iranian leaders of some sort. It depends on how literal you want to go with it, but I am willing to bet that it is literal and the Pahlavi Dynasty fulfills it.

So for those who believe these prophecies... how do you suppose that a revitalised Church will then again fall into a state worse than the current situation before anti-christ comes?

While I would like to see a proper Catholic revival, I just don't see how it would play out all things considering, and if the life of the Church is supposed to imitate the life of Christ where does this revival fit in?

To answer your second question:  the Resurrection

You've already asked the first question, before:

    2 Corinthians 4:3-4

And if our gospel be also hid, it is hid to them that are lost, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of unbelievers, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them.
