They have decided that come Pentecost 2018, they will no longer use masculine pronouns in reference to God, and are making reference to "The Father" and "The Son" optional, for which they can substitute "God and the Holy Trinity." If they do that in baptisms, the baptisms will be invalid, since "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost" is not equivalent to "In the name of God and the Holy Trinity." The latter is an invalid form for baptism.

Church of Sweden Opts for Gender Neutral Terms, Drops ‘He’ When Referring to God
    .
The Church of Sweden is making a few changes when it comes to how clergy refer to God the Father.
    .
According to the Telegraph, the church’s 251 member board voted to switch out terms  like “Lord” and “He” and incorporate the more gender neutral term “God.”
    .
According the board, those changes will go into effect in May of 2018. [This means Pentecost 2018, 3rd Sunday in May]
    .
Clergy can still use the phrase “In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit” but are also permitted to use “In the name of God and the Holy Trinity.”
    .
"Theologically, for instance, we know that God is beyond our gender determinations, God is not human,” defended church head Archbishop Antje Jackelen.
    .
The Church of Sweden makes up more than 60 percent of the country’s population boasting 6.1 million members.

  • Sweden is dead.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • "Archbishop" Antje Jackelen  .

What has happened to Sweden in all senses should serve as a powerful example to everyone of what happens to a nation when it is run by feminists.

And our current situation is no less unfortunate...

    :heretic:

  • Protestantism is an affront to Our Lord and Our Lady.  In Sweden it's just easier to see how wretched and how much of a danger Protestantism is for souls.  In that regard, Sweden's Protestantism is superior to America's because in the U.S. Protestantism comes across as almost in line with the Novus Ordo.

The only way Protestantism could be acceptable would be in the case of truly being invincibly ignorant and I'm talking the young daughter of a mountain man in the hills of West Virginia in the mid to early 1800's.

How about the native Americans in the 17th century?
    .
The missionaries who came to America sacrificed their lives for the conversion of pagans.
    .
    Did they waste their time?
    .
If the pagans were better off invincibly ignorant, maybe the missionaries should have stayed home in Europe.
    .
St. Isaac Jogues got his fingers chewed off by the Indians in New England.
    .
He returned to Europe and got a special dispensation from the Pope to say Mass anyway, with stubs for fingers.
    .
Then he RETURNED to New England to try again, but was martyred instead.
    .
    Was he wasting his time?
