    • Someone just told me that he/she tried to give me a thumbs up and it didn't take. Is this possible? Is it common? If so, why?

    • Going by your "score" I can see why you are concerned!

    But yes, it happens if she has gone overboard with the number of thumbs up for you.
    It also happens if you overdo the thumbs down for a particular person.

    • I have the same problem. Those that I tried to thumb up, and I get a
    message "Give others a chance". This is unfair. What if I do not like
    a post on a thread and it does not deserved a thumbs down. I just
    pass.

    Who cares who likes or dislikes your opinions? As everyone can vouch for I don't care one iota what someone thinks of my opinions but I just keep on posting. I wouldn't worry about your score.

    • I can understand the reasoning behind these limitations.
    Avoiding abuse by, and the sowing of discord between, members united under the same "camp", who otherwise could prop up each other's score without a limit.

    I personally never have disliked a post so far, and probably won't, as a personal rule, indefinitely or at least for the foreseeable future.

    • The system allows you to be a bit crazier on upvoting than downvoting, given human nature (you're more likely to go crazy smashing someone than propping him up).

    You can be like 21% of a person's upvotes, but only 16% of their downvotes.

    We don't want 2 fans (or 2 enemies) to be able to totally destroy a person's reputation.
