um, no it was not.........you might actually want to rad Fr.Messner's book on Dolfuss and Austria at this time, before spouting off..Messner was a close friend of Dolfuss' and attests clearly in the book and uses Dolfuss' words, that the intent was a Catholic, corpotist state......
yes, we all know the Karl I was legit King and was usurped by France, Britain and WIlson, all freemasonic......but since Karl had died, teh royal family was exiled nad not allowed to return, plus several forces arrayed against Austria, the people could not just sit there and allow themselves to be manipulated by the Allies, no nαzι Germany.......
same situation with Franco or are you against him too as he had dto resuce and stabilizethe nation? is Spain better off now with Juan Carlos, a known liberal and his Bilderberger wife?
try reading the book and look objectively at history......at that time, early-mid 1930's, there was little hope then of restoring the Hapsburgs and again, the leaders of Austria had to act in the meantime.......Much of Dolfuss' work was continuation of Fr. Seipal's.......
garbage is the knee jerk reaction to my post, sorry Andy, but true.......
anyone know of any other state at this time striving as hard for Catholic State.? anyone? anyone? or should Austria have just state there frozen?
recall, the freemasons in Romania and in Czech thratened to invade the broken, broke and prostate Austria.....so, too, nαzι sabatours.....
the time was not right nor safe for the Hapsburgs to return, nor for Austria........not perfect but would rather have Dolfuss back then what we got now...though, hoping Felix, one of his kids or Otto's kids could step up to plate and rule (Otto renounced throne and I am not aware of sucession rules-if throne goes to Otto's sons or Felix).
again,
read the book, you will see the precarious position Austria was in and Catholicism against pagan nαzι's.....one would have to prove that democracy and/or Republics are always freemasonic-they are not or that Dolfuss and Co were Freemasons-they too, were not......book for sale by SSPX ANgelus Press, so not too shabby, apparently....
Book:
http://www.angeluspress.org/oscatalog/item/8044/dollfuss-an-austrian-patriot" brief Chancellorship of Engelbert Dollfuss in Austria, lasting from May 20, 1932, until his assassination by nαzι agents on July 25, 1934, was one of the high-water marks of all European politics in the 20th century. Fr. Messner's Dollfuss chronicles the work of the Chancellor, whose legacy is his effort to fashion Austrian public life around the social Doctrine of the Church as expressed in Pius XI's encyclical Quadragesimo Anno.
In a time like our own, when, as Messner writes, there was "hardly any hope that it would ever again be possible to establish a State on Christian, or rather on Catholic, principles," Austria under Chancellor Dollfuss represented "a check...[on] the process of eliminating God and the natural moral law from public life." Today it remains, as it was then, a beacon which "leads the way to the truly Christian State."
"[Dollfuss was] the representative of all that remains of the Holy Roman Empire." - G.K. Chesterton.
