If anyone can say, I'd like to know what Fr. Gruner's involvement
was with the 'funeral Mass', because it doesn't seem to have been
a CTLM, and he would therefore not be the celebrant.  It's a very
sad time we live in, when a priest's own brother dies and the
Catholic family chooses to not have the departed's own sibling
offer the Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul.  So Fr. is no doubt
going to offer private Masses, I would expect, but would he even be
willing to be present in the room for a NovusOrdo "resurrection
service?"  This is a pressing question in my mind, because it's
happening all over the world with modern 'Catholic' families, mine
    included.

And I'm sure yours as well, dear reader!

When I had a CTLM Requiem offered for my dear father, his sister,
who is a lifelong Catholic, albeit NovusOrdo adherent, told me to my
face that her deceased husband (my father's brother-in-law)
"would have loved to have had that."  What can one say?

IF he would have loved to have had that, THEN WHY DID HE SPEND
THE LAST 35 YEARS OF HIS LIFE NOT GOING TO THE
TRADITIONAL LATIN MASS?!?!  IF my uncle had stood up like a MAN,
and had supported the Canonized Traditional Mass with the courage
of his "likes," THEN his entire family may have been moved to consider
    the implications.  But NO.

He was a 'fixture' in the NovusOrdo 'faith community.'  He was a
pediatrician and thousands of friends, neighbors and family saw
how he went to the NovusOrdo Newmass.  At his funeral they did
the obligatory 'eulogies' and social service announcements from the
family, right in front of the Tabernacle of Our Lord, and my aunt
sat there beaming, all proud of her clever sons, who took the
opportunity to turn a funeral Mass into a Masonic Mutual Admiration
    Society Meeting.

So if it's not okay to do a 'eulogy' at a Requiem Mass why do I
think it's okay to mention this conflict in the context of a thread
about the passing of a priest's brother?

Maybe I shouldn't be saying this right now, but I think it needs to
be covered.  Maybe it should be another thread or whatever.  Sorry,
Fr. Gruner, nothing personal.  May God have mercy on ALL the souls
of the faithful departed, including your dear brother's.

And may God have mercy on all of us too, while it's still not too
    late for His mercy.

    Kyrie eleison.
